Raiden Ei's Misunderstanding

Aside from Xuanye's complicated relationships with the women around him, which held no interest for her, Raiden Ei wanted to watch everything he did.

From the look of her, she seemed particularly interested in how Xuanye governed.

But Xuanye had a feeling she wasn't trying to learn. She had simply returned to her old role as a body double—and seemed rather happy about it.

Xuanye looked at Raiden Ei's slightly translucent soul and asked, "Do you want me to make you a new body? It certainly won't compare to your original divine body, but you'll be able to move around normally."

Now that Xuanye had awakened the Rinnegan, creating a body for someone whose soul was intact was well within his abilities.

Of course, he couldn't create a Demon God's battle-hardened body out of thin air.

Raiden Ei shook her head without hesitation.

"No need. I have no intention of appearing before mortals."

The people of this world weren't her subjects. Raiden Ei had no reason to go to the trouble of "granting her subjects a dream" or anything of the sort.

She had chosen to appear because Xuanye interested her, not for any other reason.

She was quite satisfied with how they got along: more than friends, but not quite like an older sister.

After spending time with him, Raiden Ei had found this human unusual. She kept catching glimpses of her sister in him.

Calm, wise, seemingly able to handle anything with ease.

But as she got to know him, she realized Xuanye was nothing like her sister at all.

Just how he differed was more than Raiden Ei's limited vocabulary could explain.
