"Kasang, what's this guy's battle power now?" Kazer asked his aide beside him, his brows furrowed. The aura he'd just unleashed had filled him with unease.
"Lord Kazer, the scouters can't measure it anymore. They... they all self-destructed because they couldn't withstand that power." Kasang's voice trembled slightly. He was clearly shaken by what he was seeing.
After Zhou Zilong's battle power shot past ten thousand, the scouters—still trying to track its rapid rise—couldn't take the strain and one after another went out with a bang.
Kazer's expression turned grave. He muttered, "Looks like this is going to be a tough fight. Still, that's fine. If I turn this guy into nutrients, my strength will make a huge leap!"
"That brat tried to kill me just as I was transforming. It'd be downright rude not to return the favor!" Kazer added, his words laced with mockery and arrogance. The dark energy gathering in his hand was like an abyss in the night sky, swallowing all light around it.
With a casual flick of his hand, a fierce Qi Gong blast tore through the air and shot straight toward Zhou Zilong.
But Zhou Zilong was no pushover. Just as the blast was about to hit, he shouted, "Hah!" His earth-shaking cry not only dispelled the attack but sent it rebounding in every direction. Dust billowed, and his figure vanished from where he stood.
"Now it's my turn!" Zhou Zilong's voice was cold and resolute, like a winter wind cutting through the clouds and striking straight at the heart.
Using a rapid movement technique, he appeared behind Kazer in an instant. He was so fast the air couldn't even make a sound.
Kazer sensed trouble and hurriedly shifted his stance, preparing to respond.
"Lord Kazer, watch out!" Kasang cried from the ground, but it was too late.
Zhou Zilong gathered all his strength into a punch that crashed into Kazer's back like a meteor striking the earth. The blow sent Kazer hurtling toward the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust and rubble.
As the dust settled, Zhou Zilong slowly descended to the ground. There was no trace of relaxation in his eyes; if anything, they were more resolute than before. He knew the battle was far from over.
"Lord Kazer was knocked to the ground with just one hit! That guy's battle power must be far greater than Lord Kazer's. We should run!" Fear and unease spread quickly through the crowd as the Scale-Head Aliens began murmuring. Some were already backing away.
Kasang tried to calm the panicking crowd. "Don't panic. We still have a way."
Meanwhile, Kazer gritted his teeth against the pain and struggled to his feet. His eyes were bloodshot, as if they were about to spew flames. Roaring, he charged at Zhou Zilong, his fists bearing down with the force of thunder as he swore to reclaim his dignity.
But Zhou Zilong moved like a phantom, easily dodging Kazer's attacks. He gave Kazer a taste of his own medicine with two consecutive heavy punches, making him suffer defeat once again.
Zhou Zilong didn't stop attacking. He moved beneath Kazer.
Zhou Zilong immediately grabbed Kazer by the neck and leg.
Two sounds rang out in the air: a "crack" and a cry of "Ah!"
In that instant, Zhou Zilong had driven his left knee into Kazer, whom he had seized, and wrenched him violently.
The bones in Kazer's lumbar spine couldn't withstand the sudden impact and snapped, making the cracking sound.
The other sound was obviously Kazer crying out because he couldn't bear the pain.
But Zhou Zilong's expression was as cold as ice, completely unmoved. He knew that mercy toward an enemy was cruelty to oneself, especially in this dog-eat-dog universe.
"Ahhh!" Kazer's cry was filled with despair and resentment. He'd never imagined that the path to power he'd so carefully planned would end in failure here. But the shadow of death had already fallen over him, filling him with a fear unlike any he'd ever felt.
Just then, an anxious voice cut through the air. It belonged to Kazer's loyal subordinate, Kasang. He held a specially made Shadow Bazooka, a powerful weapon capable of firing black-and-purple energy beams, and his eyes shone with determination. "Lord Kazer, you can't give up now! Our dream, the honor of our race—they all rest on you!"
Before Kasang had even finished speaking, the weapon in his hands had finished charging. With a deafening boom, a black-and-purple beam tore through the sky and shot straight toward Zhou Zilong. It held enough power to destroy a small planet—Kasang's last hope.
Zhou Zilong didn't pay it any mind. Right now, he was focused on finishing off Kazer, the leader.
As the beam drew closer, Zhou Zilong sensed something was wrong and immediately hurled Kazer toward it.
Unexpectedly, Kazer pressed something at his waist. A blue-black ring of light enveloped him, shielding him from harm as he continued attacking Zhou Zilong.
"Kamehameha!"
Zhou Zilong leapt backward to evade the attack. Now he held his hands at his waist in the shape of a flower bud, gathering energy.
A blue-white blast of energy collided with the black-and-purple beam.
"Hah!"
As the Kamehameha clashed with the black-and-purple energy beam, Zhou Zilong powered up once more.
The black-and-purple beam was quickly driven skyward by the Kamehameha, where it scattered and vanished.
"I thought it was just a weak attack. I didn't expect it to contain so much energy. I guess I underestimated what technology can do!"
