After dealing with Guranger's ghost, they encountered no further trouble and smoothly reached the summit of Mount Edolas.
Gray and the others got out of the carriage. Before them lay a constantly churning sea of clouds, along with a narrow suspension bridge connecting two peaks.
Looking toward the far end of the bridge, they could see a church about three stories tall standing there. That was the Church's headquarters.
"Is this the only way?"
Olga Marie looked at the weathered suspension bridge, her delicate brows lifting slightly.
"It is said that this suspension bridge was built by the first Holy King himself. The Church considers crossing it a form of training."
Sakura explained at the right moment. The other Church knights had already stepped onto the bridge as well, showing neither hesitation nor fear.
"All right."
Olga Marie took a deep breath and followed them onto it.
Gray had nothing to say about it and simply followed behind Olga Marie. The moment she stepped onto the suspension bridge, the equally worn wooden planks beneath her feet let out a sharp creak, as though they were about to snap.
Even with Gray's timid nature, she could not avoid that kind of reaction.
She jumped in fright, her face turning somewhat pale. Though she did not have acrophobia, when she looked down from the suspension bridge, all she could see was the rolling sea of clouds and the hard, snow-covered mountain ranges. There was no end in sight beneath her feet.
"You haven't learned such advanced magecraft either..."
What she failed to notice was that Sakura, walking behind her, had been silently observing her all along, a highly interested expression on her face.
