"Cedric"—no, Grivan, as he should be called—smiled warmly, looking as though he had not taken Glanid's actions to heart in the slightest. Though he wore the appearance of a young man, those eyes revealed his true nature.
Glanid still could not believe what stood before him, but unable to move, he could only passively accept this information.
"As for exactly how I did it, I have no intention of telling you. After all, you lack the aptitude for magecraft. Knowing it would only add to your troubles."
Grivan raised his arm high. Azure Mage Circuits lit up, forming the shape of a Mage Crest.
"A Mage Crest...?"
Glanid stared incredulously at the Mage Crest on Grivan's arm and muttered instinctively.
"Hadn't I already destroyed that thing? That so-called Ashborn inheritance?"
"Ah, you mean the inheritance. My sincerest apologies, but there was never any so-called inheritance. The Mage Crest in that box was real enough, but it was not something passed down through the Abhscion Family. Or rather, it was an outright counterfeit."
Grivan said with a smile. Though his tone remained as gentle as ever, every word he spoke felt like a blade piercing Glanid's body.
Glanid opened his eyes in fury, but upon seeing the person before him, the rage that had surged forth was immediately suppressed, replaced by a humble smile.
Glanid lowered his head deeply, not daring to say another word.
