Now that Mystery had faded, there were very few who could bring magecraft to such power, even with the aid of grand rituals.
Still, his magecraft had been successfully completed. Magecraft that controlled the weather was vast in scale, but not especially rare.
Rituals for praying for rain, or based upon such prayers, existed almost everywhere in the world. In the ancient East in particular, such rituals had been commonplace.
But that had only been possible in an era when Mystery had yet to fade. In the modern age, accomplishing such a feat was harder than reaching the heavens. This time, it was only because the Lake District's ever-changing weather had conveniently gathered the conditions needed to create cumulonimbus clouds.
Even so, the Galiasta family had paid a certain price.
Twilight was the gap between day and night. Since ancient times, it had held the Mystery of transition; everything was at its weakest then. In the Far East, twilight was also known as the "hour of meeting demons."
Attacking at such a time would yield twice the results with half the effort.
