Vegeta's Conspiracy

"Not... not yet, but he can't move anymore. I'll kill him before I leave," Dodoria replied, sounding a little guilty.

"Go ahead." Frieza waved a hand and ended the call.

Dodoria breathed a small sigh of relief.

Vegeta's smile grew even brighter.

"Vegeta, look... I did what you told me to," Dodoria said ingratiatingly.

"Hmph, you did well!" Vegeta smiled faintly.

"What do we do next?" Dodoria asked.

"You're no longer useful to me!" Killing intent appeared in Vegeta's eyes.

"W-what did you say?" Dodoria's expression changed repeatedly. "Vegeta... you, you... you're going back on your word!"

"Bang!"

Vegeta suddenly kicked him, landing a heavy blow to Dodoria's chest.

Dodoria's chest caved in deeply, and he flew backward, smashing straight through the wall of the spaceship's cabin before crashing onto the ground outside.

He skidded several hundred meters across the ground before finally coming to a stop.

Vegeta leaped after him and brought his knee crashing down on Dodoria's neck.

"Crack!"

Dodoria's neck twisted out of shape, killing him instantly.

Vegeta took the Battle God Water from Dodoria, then fired a Ki Blast at him, blasting him to pieces.

When he was done, Vegeta slowly returned to Dodoria's spaceship.

"Prince Vegeta... there was no need to destroy his spaceship!" Nappa looked at Vegeta, puzzled.

"Hmph, I did it on purpose!" Vegeta snorted.

"On purpose?" Nappa looked completely baffled.

Without rushing, Vegeta stowed the Battle God Water in a storage cabinet, then quickly worked at the computer.

Target: Planet Vegeta!

Launch!

Vegeta pressed the button to launch the spaceship and then left it.

"Whoosh!"

The spaceship shot into the sky, pierced the atmosphere in an instant, and entered the vast reaches of space, heading toward Planet Vegeta on autopilot.

"You're letting the spaceship go back on its own?" Nappa scratched his head, struggling to keep up.

"Hmph, of course." Vegeta smiled faintly. "When Dodoria got the Battle God Water, Frieza made him drink it during their video call and learned that it had multiplied his combat power by sixteen."

"I still don't quite understand..." Nappa said, baffled.

"You idiot!" Vegeta scolded him, his expression turning cold as he explained, "Frieza was originally only half-convinced that the Battle God Water could multiply someone's strength. But with his loyal subordinate Dodoria as a guinea pig, he'll believe it! What neither Frieza nor Dodoria knows is that the Battle God Water has side effects!"

"I get it..." Nappa said, suddenly enlightened. "You deliberately left the Battle God Water in space, guessing Dodoria would find it and drink it, right?"

"Hmph." Vegeta's lips curled up slightly.

"As expected of Prince Vegeta! That was a brilliant plan!" Nappa praised him, then asked curiously, "But... why leave a hole in the spaceship?"

"Frieza will eventually find this spaceship. When his men board it, they'll see that neither Dodoria nor I are here, and that there's a hole in the ship. It'll look like we fought inside... I'll leave the rest to Frieza's imagination!" Vegeta chuckled. "But I don't think any of that will matter to him. Once Frieza's men find the Battle God Water, he'll drink it without hesitation!"

"So that's how it is!" Nappa gave Vegeta a thumbs-up.

"We'll destroy the spaceship's communication system, then quietly follow them." A smile appeared on Vegeta's face. "Frieza's Weakness Period lasts one day! When the time comes, all I have to do is drink the Battle God Water, and I'll be able to kill Frieza!"

"But... how can we be sure Frieza drank the Battle God Water?" Nappa scratched his head and asked.

"We don't need to be sure! I'm certain he'll drink it!" Vegeta scoffed. "The Battle God Water boosts combat power. Who wouldn't want to get stronger? You, me, Raditz—even Cui. Who hasn't drunk it?"

Nappa suddenly felt that Vegeta was absolutely right.

"And I've already worked it out. By the time we get back to Planet Vegeta, it'll be the full moon!" Vegeta's face showed utter confidence. "Then, once I drink the Battle God Water and turn into a Great Ape, my combat power will be at least three million! Even if Frieza's fourth form has a combat power of three million, I won't be afraid!"

Nappa's eyes gleamed.

Prince Vegeta was right.

So they really could kill Frieza!

The two waited for about an hour before setting off in their own spaceship, heading toward Planet Vegeta.

Before leaving, Vegeta and Nappa found the spaceship's tracking and communication systems and destroyed them.

Three days later.

Near Planet Vegeta, aboard Frieza's spaceship.

Frieza sat in his baby carriage, gazing out at the stars and waiting eagerly for the Battle God Water to return.

With that thing, I might be able to surpass Lord Beerus.

I could even replace him and become the next God of Destruction!

Frieza was still fairly simple-minded at this point.

He naively believed that one hundred billion in combat power would be enough to defeat Beerus.

It wasn't until the future, after Frieza died and was imprisoned in Hell, bound inside a cocoon and hung from a tree, where little fairies tormented him all day with their singing, that his outlook was truly tempered.

Then, after Frieza was resurrected, the years he'd spent honing his mind in Hell allowed him to unlock Golden Mode in just six months.

Only after Frieza unlocked Golden Form did he finally understand the vast gap between himself and Lord Beerus.

Frieza was still young and arrogant.

Could one hundred billion in combat power really fail to defeat a God of Destruction?

It was just like how Vegeta naively thought that three million in combat power would let him pin Frieza to the ground and beat him senseless.

"Lord Frieza, we've just detected Dodoria's spaceship approaching!" Berryblue bowed behind Frieza. "Our men are intercepting it now!"

"Oh? That fellow has been out of contact for three days!" Frieza frowned.

"Why did he lose contact?" Berryblue asked, puzzled.

"Hmph, Dodoria must have let his guard down and been ambushed by Vegeta. They may even have killed each other." Frieza wasn't surprised, though a little anxious inside. "It doesn't matter if they're dead. What I care about most right now is... where is the Battle God Water?"
