Future Trunks Came Looking for a Beating After All

Earth in the Dragon Ball world was a pretty harmonious place. It had all kinds of strange species, like werewolves, bear-men, and bird-men, and they lived alongside humans.

Frieza might not have wanted to admit it, but he really was benefiting from this crowd. So even though he and Dodoria stood out, people weren't particularly hostile toward the two of them.

Of course, that was only because Frieza wore sunglasses. Otherwise, plenty of people would have been scared into having heart attacks.

The pharmacies would probably have been cleaned out of Quick-Acting Heart Pills, and the police on their flying motorcycles would come after him and charge him with frightening people.

Naturally, Frieza didn't go out all that often. Usually, he stayed in the Gravity Chamber Bulma had custom-built for him.

The chamber could reach up to a thousand times normal gravity, but Frieza could currently handle only five hundred. That was the gravity Vegeta had used for his regular training during the Majin Buu Saga.

As for Dodoria, well, if he dared step inside, he'd be crushed into a meat paste.

During this period, Dodoria's battle power had improved quite a bit too. Whenever Frieza had nothing else to do, he'd lash out with his tail, calling it Frieza-style training.

And it really did work. Dodoria now had a battle power of 300,000. He was no longer someone Krillin and the others could easily overpower.

With the Gravity Chamber's help, Frieza's strength had grown even faster. By the time he sensed Future Trunks's ki, his battle power had already broken through to 800 million!

The Gravity Chamber had another useful effect, too: it helped Frieza stabilize his battle power, so he no longer needed to return to Ice Planet to do so.

And so, Frieza settled down on Earth. He still couldn't ignore the Frieza Force, though. After all, destroying a few worthless planets was a task Beerus, the God of Destruction, had assigned him.

There was no helping it. Frieza couldn't afford to offend Beerus for now, so he had to let Dodoria manage things remotely.

The main reason was that after getting a taste of the benefits of Frieza-style training, Dodoria refused to leave Frieza's side, even if it killed him.

Frieza let him have his way. Beerus hadn't demanded anything specific, after all. The planets just had to be destroyed.

To be fair, Frieza really had been made to take the blame. Everything he did was at Beerus's request, yet people called him an utterly evil villain.

Today, Frieza finished his training. After reaching a battle power of 800 million, he seemed to have hit a bottleneck. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't increase his battle power quickly anymore.

He'd tried training under even stronger gravity, but it still hadn't helped with the bottleneck at all. So Frieza decided to take a break for a while.

Right then, Frieza sensed Future Trunks's ki. It was unfamiliar, but it definitely belonged to a Saiyan, so it could only be Future Trunks.

Frieza wasn't the only one who sensed it. The others on Earth did, too.

Without a word, all the warriors flew toward Future Trunks's location.

Frieza could have used Instant Transmission to get there, but he wasn't in a hurry. He simply sent Dodoria to go check out the commotion first.

He'd just finished training. Didn't he need to take a bath or something?

As for clothes, Frieza didn't need them. His natural skin was perfectly fine. Once he reached a certain level of strength, he'd change skins naturally.

He took a bath, shaved his nonexistent beard, and grabbed a bite to eat. Only then did Frieza use Instant Transmission to appear beside Future Trunks.

Future Trunks was already completely dazed.

When Piccolo and the others told him that Frieza hadn't been defeated back then and had already been living on Earth for some time, Future Trunks felt like his whole world had turned upside down.

It was especially bad when he saw his own mother flying over, too. His entire worldview crumbled.

Mom knew martial arts? Her battle power was 1,000? She was even stronger than King Piccolo had been back then!

Who was he?

Where was he?

What was he supposed to do?

When Frieza appeared beside him, Future Trunks's confusion reached its peak!

He'd taken too many shocks today. He broke down on the spot.

He transformed into a Super Saiyan, drew the long sword from his back, and swung it down at Frieza.

Two Death Beams shot from Frieza's scarlet eyes, shattering Future Trunks's sword.

Frieza glanced at Bulma and said coolly,

"You didn't raise your son properly. I'll discipline him for you!"

Bulma looked completely baffled. Everyone else wore thoughtful expressions.

Future Trunks was so furious he lost all sense. He tossed aside his shattered sword, raised his fist, and charged at Frieza.

Bam!

Whoosh—

Boom!

Frieza knocked Future Trunks flying with a lash of his tail. He crashed into a mountain and shattered it.

"This isn't right. I care about the environment. I normally wouldn't even step on a flowerbed, so how could I destroy nature like this?"

Slap!

This time, Frieza kicked Future Trunks in the back. Future Trunks shot into the sky and became a star, vanishing from sight.

"Future Trunks is here now. Son Goku should be back before long, too. He already had a battle power of 300 million back then. I wonder how strong he is now!"

Whoosh—

Frieza had barely finished speaking when Son Goku appeared, holding Future Trunks by the shoulder.

It turned out Son Goku had sensed Frieza fighting some stranger. Afraid their battle might destroy Earth, he couldn't help using Instant Transmission.

First, he rescued Future Trunks, who was about to break through the atmosphere. Then he used Instant Transmission again and appeared in front of Frieza.

Frieza looked down at Future Trunks, who lay unconscious on the ground, and felt deeply disappointed.

A mere 260 million battle power. Who gave him the courage to challenge me?

With so little battle power, how did he think he could go berserk and attack people?

If Bulma weren't your mother, and if I didn't owe her so much, that kick would have sent you to King Yemma.

I wonder if people who die in this timeline have their souls sent back to the Future Timeline?

Never mind. Why think about all that?

"Son Goku, you learned Instant Transmission from the Yardrats, right? Why are you the only one who came back first?"

When Son Goku saw Frieza, he raised a hand and said, "Hey!" He tested Future Trunks's ki as he answered,

"Our ship won't reach Earth for another three hours. Vegeta didn't learn Instant Transmission, but he learned another skill—Shift!"

Vegeta cursed: "Damn it, Kakarot! You just spilled all my secrets and stole my line! We're definitely fighting again later!"

Shift? Had Husu kept something from me back then?

Frieza wondered if that was possible.

Husu: Lord Frieza, I swear I'm innocent! Shift was something Vegeta developed by modifying Instant Transmission! The guy really is a fighting genius!

Frieza checked Son Goku's battle power. It was 8.2 million in his base form. To work out his transformed battle power, just multiply by fifty: 58-40... hmm, 450 million.

"Hey, everyone!"

Since Frieza wasn't saying anything, Son Goku went over to greet his friends on Earth.

As for Future Trunks, who was lying on the ground, he hadn't suffered any fatal injuries. He'd only passed out, so Son Goku wasn't too worried.
