Frieza had absolutely no idea what Husu was saying, especially since the man was missing three front teeth.
What the hell was he even babbling about?
Frieza's eyes turned icy with murderous intent, and Husu's legs began to tremble uncontrollably.
Husu's already large eyes bulged in panic, filled to the brim with bloodshot veins.
Suddenly, as if struck by a thought, Husu scrambled to pull a yellowed book from his storage space.
He took one glance to ensure it was the right one, then hurriedly shoved it toward Frieza.
"The Nerve Book!"
Frieza couldn't help but read the title aloud, and when he connected it to Husu's earlier ramblings, things started to make a bit more sense.
Frieza cast a Healing Technique, and Husu felt as if he'd just eaten a Senzu Bean; his injuries healed rapidly, and even his missing teeth grew back.
Though surprised by the transformation, Husu knew it had to be related to the green light Frieza had just flicked at him.
"King Frieza! This is the Nerve Book I mentioned. It contains an ancient master's insights into spiritual power. Someone once used the contents of this book to master the Time Skip!"
Time Skip!!
A dazzling light ignited in Frieza's eyes. That was an incredibly powerful combat skill—Hit, that guy, had used the Time Skip to dominate the entire Universe 6!
Swish~
The yellowed book flew into Frieza's hand, but the moment he opened it, he was stunned.
The text was nothing but squiggles; he couldn't understand a single word!
"Are you sure you didn't just slap a cover on this? Why is the outside written in the common language of the three universes, but the inside is full of these incomprehensible tadpole-like characters?"
Husu's legs had stopped shaking, his strength had returned, and his speech was now perfectly clear.
"I didn't add the cover, my ancestors did!"
Frieza's face darkened. What the hell was the difference!
"Don't be impatient, King Frieza! You don't need to be able to read it. Just focus your spiritual power onto the book, and you will naturally understand the contents!"
Hmmph~
This book was certainly "nerve-wracking" and mysterious; it seemed the person who wrote it had achieved a profound level of spiritual power.
Frieza said nothing and released his spiritual power. Though it was only a small fraction, it was more than enough to cover the book.
Husu marveled to himself, thinking that King Frieza was truly formidable. He had never received systematic training in spiritual control, yet he could project his power instantly.
Judging by what Frieza had just done, his mastery of spiritual power was already exceptionally high.
Husu was overestimating Frieza, however. If the soul currently inhabiting Frieza's body hadn't transmigrated from another world, his spiritual power wouldn't be anywhere near this level.
Frieza was unaware of this; he only knew that this Nerve Book was indeed quite "nerve-wracking"—an ordinary person would surely be driven insane by its contents.
Fortunately, Frieza was no ordinary person. Not only did he avoid madness, but he also mastered both the Time Skip and the Lightning Flash!
The Time Skip was the same technique used by Hit. Frieza had mastered it, but he could only control time for less than a thousandth of a second, which was honestly a bit underwhelming.
The Lightning Flash wasn't as strong as the Time Skip, but it made Frieza's speed even greater, truly making him three parts faster than lightning itself.
The Time Skip and Lightning Flash were actually a combo set. By using the Time Skip to hide himself in the gaps of time and following up with the Lightning Flash, he could catch even an opponent with double his combat power off guard.
In a battle between experts, even the slightest advantage could turn the tide.
"Not bad, not bad. In light of the fact that this book is actually quite useful, I shall forgive your previous insolence!"
Husu had been guarding Frieza for a month, terrified that if Frieza woke up and didn't see him, he would fly into a rage. He hadn't dared to take a single step away.
It was a relief that Frieza had finally woken up; if he had dragged it out any longer, Husu might have turned into a wild man.
"Huh? How did you end up looking like such a mess in such a short time?"
"King Frieza, a whole month has passed!"
Hmmph?
That long?
"Fine, you've worked hard. I won't punish you this time, but if I ever find out you've hidden anything from me again, you know the consequences!"
"I know! I know! I would never dare to hide anything again!"
Frieza departed, the Planet Yardrat was saved, and Husu promptly collapsed from exhaustion.
Upon returning to Bulma's home, Frieza asked directly.
"How is the research on the Time Machine coming along?"
Bulma was startled by Frieza's sudden appearance and retorted irritably.
"How could it possibly be finished? It's a Time Machine, not an airplane! It's impossible to research. I can't understand a lot of the data, and without systematic notes, it's impossible to figure out. At least, I don't have the ability to do it for now!"
This admission left Bulma feeling quite dejected.
"Give it to me. I'll take it to headquarters and have someone else look into it!"
Though Frieza was a bit disappointed, he knew the Time Machine was incredibly complex; giving Bulma only a month was clearly not enough.
As for when Future Trunks would return, he couldn't care less; what did the life or death of the future have to do with him?
"It's gone, Conan already took it back, and he left in the Time Machine too!"
Frieza's eyes narrowed, his aura climbing steadily; he was angry and needed to vent!
If he couldn't vent through that sort of thing, then he would just have to destroy something!
"Hey, hey, hey, you were the one who said you'd study it for three days, and now a whole month has passed!"
Bulma didn't care about the consequences of Frieza's anger; after all, she hadn't done anything wrong.
Uh~
It seemed Bulma had a point!
Damn that Husu!
In any case, he, Frieza, could certainly never be wrong.
Whoosh~
Frieza vanished!
Whoosh~
Frieza reappeared!
Frieza felt much better after reappearing, but unfortunately, Husu was in a miserable state; he wouldn't be getting out of bed for at least a year or eighteen months.
"Go prepare some exquisite food for me!"
Frieza felt no psychological pressure at all in ordering Bulma around; the woman still owed him quite a lot in unpaid patent fees!
"Why don't you just go to the dining hall? There's someone providing food 24 hours a day!"
Bulma grumbled inwardly, wondering where all the food went since he only ever ate and never seemed to relieve himself.
Frieza was actually curious himself; where did all the food he consumed go?
Forget it, strange things happened every year, and this year they just happened to be at his place.
Inside the dining hall, Vegeta was gorging himself, and with many food items already in short supply, it was clear the kitchen couldn't keep up!
Frieza was speechless.
Fortunately, Vegeta, being a Saiyan, wasn't a picky eater and mostly stuck to staples, which differed from Frieza's own preferences.
"Frieza! I want to duel you!"
Having trained in the Gravity Chamber for nearly a month, Vegeta's combat power had skyrocketed to 500 million, and he felt that he was now capable of teaching Frieza a lesson!
"Oh ho ho ho ho!"
"Mr. Vegeta, your self-confidence seems to have inflated a bit too much!"
"Very well, I shall play with you once I've finished eating; a little post-meal exercise is acceptable, after all!"
