Future Trunks looked at Baby Trunks, who was begging to be held, his heart filled with complex emotions.
Holding his younger self—the sensation was truly bizarre.
"Is Dad okay?"
Future Trunks had lost his father while still an infant; he didn't know what kind of man his father truly was, as everything he knew came from the accounts of his mother, Bulma, in the future.
He only knew that Vegeta was incredibly proud and possessed an extreme desire to be the strongest!
Although Vegeta hadn't been defeated by that delicate girl Android 18 like in the original timeline, and had even nearly crippled Android 17 after an outburst, he had still been crushed by a machine. Even if there had been an element of a sneak attack, a defeat was still a defeat.
When Vegeta had left just moments ago, the unwillingness and fury in his eyes were visible to everyone.
As a man himself, Future Trunks could feel the deep-seated resentment hidden within Vegeta's heart!
The object of that resentment was Frieza!
Future Trunks couldn't understand why this timeline had become such a mess, and he absolutely refused to believe it was caused by his own arrival.
When he first arrived, Frieza was already on Earth, and his combat power was terrifying.
"Trunks, don't overthink it. Your father is a very proud man, that's true, but he is also incredibly resilient! Nothing can break him. Trust me, Vegeta will recover soon!"
As Vegeta's wife—though they hadn't held a wedding banquet or even signed a marriage certificate—this didn't affect her understanding of him.
Aloof!
That was in the past; the current Vegeta was no longer aloof, only proud!
His status as a prince gave him a pride that ordinary people couldn't comprehend, and he would prove through his actions that he was the strongest.
"Mom, can I go check on Dad?"
Bulma shook her head at Future Trunks and said earnestly.
"Trust Mom, don't go. Let him calm down by himself! Let's go home first. You're so dirty; no girl will like you looking like that!"
Future Trunks instantly turned beet red. Both his young mother and his future mother were equally unpredictable.
And so, with Baby Trunks riding on his shoulders, one hand steadying him while the other held his young mother, Future Trunks flew toward their home in West City, followed by the three Androids.
From time to time, Future Trunks would look back at the three Androids. He still couldn't accept why the Androids of this timeline were so vastly different from the ones in the future!
It was simply absurd!
When they returned home, to everyone's surprise, Vegeta was already standing in the courtyard.
"If you show even the slightest sign of malice, I will destroy you without mercy! Including you, big guy. Frieza may have been able to defeat you, but I can do the same!"
Having said that, Vegeta didn't wait for their response and walked straight into the Gravity Chamber.
He hadn't gone to stand on a mountaintop to meditate like in the original timeline; after all, the blow he had received this time wasn't entirely impossible to accept.
"See, Trunks? Your father is still a very thoughtful person!"
"Dad~ So he actually cares about us!"
Future Trunks was deeply moved; he finally believed his future mother's words.
Your father, he actually cares about us very much!
It turned out to be true!
"Trunks! Get into the Gravity Chamber! Have you been playing in the mud for the last few years?!"
An angry roar echoed from within the Gravity Chamber.
"Go on. If you want to deal with the Androids of the future, you can only rely on yourself. Let your father train you well. How could my son, Bulma's son, be inferior to that mama's boy Gohan!"
Future Trunks nodded vigorously, pulled Baby Trunks—who refused to let go—off his neck, and placed him into Bulma's arms.
"Yes!!"
Afterward, Future Trunks rushed toward the Gravity Chamber. Before closing the door, he took one last look at the three Androids.
Seeing that they truly didn't have a shred of murderous intent, he finally shut the door to the Gravity Chamber.
"Everyone, follow me. Xiaoqiang, take Android 16 to the lab first and run a scan on his body structure!"
Bulma ushered the Androids into the house while giving orders to a household robot.
Android 16 followed the robot, still holding his hand over his crotch where machine oil was leaking out.
Under Bulma's guidance, Android 17 and 18 went to the bathroom to wash up first. Bulma's bathroom was large enough to accommodate both men and women, and it even had partitions.
"There, there are some clothes. Pick whatever you like, don't be shy!"
As the richest woman in the world, Bulma had an endless supply of these things, and they were all high-end garments.
Android 17 and 18 thanked her before entering the bathroom.
Bulma walked up to a safe, entered the code, and opened it to reveal the Dragon Balls, which were flickering with light. All seven were there.
The Dragon Balls had almost become the private collection of the Bulma household. Even Kami could only watch from afar; he wouldn't dare go to Bulma's house to cause trouble.
That wouldn't be upholding justice; that would be like an old man eating arsenic—tired of living.
Inside the Gravity Chamber, Trunks struggled to move under 300 times gravity; he simply hadn't adapted yet.
"You are forbidden from transforming into a Super Saiyan. You must be able to move freely here in your base state, and then, you must move with the swiftness of the wind!"
"Your foundation is a massive disappointment to me. It is a miracle you can even transform at all!"
"I'm sorry~!"
Trunks hung his head, having no intention of resisting the lecture from his father, Vegeta.
"Raise your head! My son, the son of Vegeta, must possess the pride of a Saiyan. I am the Prince, and you are a prince as well. The pride of a Saiyan Prince does not allow you to bow your head!!"
"Yes!!"
On Mount Paozu, Son Goku was no longer in pain. By the time Gohan, Piccolo, Tien Shinhan, and Krillin arrived, Son Goku was already snoring.
This caused everyone to heave a sigh of relief; as long as Son Goku was fine, they believed the Earth was safe.
Now that the Androids had been confirmed to be harmless, what could possibly be more important than Son Goku's illness?
As it turned out, there was something.
At the Lookout, the Guardian of Earth furrowed his brows. Just moments ago, an entire town's population had been ambushed by a monster and vanished, leaving nothing behind but piles of clothing on the ground.
The Guardian had only just discovered this scene. The creature's growth rate was astonishing, and its aura was incredibly evil, causing a fine layer of sweat to bead on the old man's face.
Mr. Popo stood by the old Guardian, his expression as calm as an ancient well, as if nothing could ever cause him to fluctuate emotionally.
"Mr. Popo, I have a feeling that a great catastrophe is about to befall the Earth!"
"This feeling is extremely intense; it is even possible that I might truly depart this time!"
Mr. Popo's eyes finally changed, a glimmer of reluctance appearing in his gaze.
"Guardian, you will be fine. The Earth has Son Goku, it has Vegeta, and now it has Piccolo, whose strength is not what it once was. They will protect the Earth well!"
The Guardian turned his gaze toward another location, where people were disappearing one by one at a speed that was truly staggering.
"I hope so, but my intuition is strong. This time, let alone Piccolo, even Son Goku and Vegeta might not be able to overcome this evil!"
"Perhaps Frieza could! But he is not on Earth right now. Who knows if he could make it back in time?"
Mr. Popo's eyes narrowed; this was the first time he had shown such a significant reaction.
"He will! There is goodness in Frieza's heart; he is not as evil as King Kai claims! Frieza is neither purely good nor purely evil, yet he has his own bottom line!"
"Furthermore, I can feel that he is genuinely protecting the Earth. He previously reinforced the geographical properties of the combat zones!"
"Frieza can save the Earth!"
The Guardian looked at Mr. Popo with curiosity; this was the most Mr. Popo had ever spoken.
"Let us hope so. Frieza, where exactly is he right now?"
