Matou Kariya answered, staring at the magecraft circle on the ground. This was the starting point of the Holy Grail War.
"Very good, but you need to add two additional verses to the summoning chant."
Matou Zouken sneered. He would not let anyone who had betrayed him get away lightly. This discarded pawn had to be erased as well; only then could he extinguish the last ray of light in Sakura's heart and make her useful to him.
"Why?"
Matou Kariya sensed that something was wrong. That old monster was certainly up to no good.
"It's very simple, Kariya. Your ability as a magus is far inferior to that of the other Masters, and that will affect your Servant's base parameters.
"If you want to win the Holy Grail War, you must use the class modifiers to directly raise those base parameters."
"Kariya, you need to grant the Servant summoned this time the attribute of Mad Enhancement."
As he said this, Matou Zouken's smile carried undisguised cruelty and mockery, along with a measure of caution.
Servants were powerful. He had no desire for Matou Kariya to order his Servant to kill him after obtaining one.
A Berserker-class Servant, however, posed no such concern. It would even place a greater burden on Matou Kariya's body, making him harder to control.
Matou Kariya said nothing. Though he could tell that old monster had ill intentions, he had no right to choose now and could only obey.
Seeing Matou Kariya's silent consent, Matou Zouken finally took out the prepared catalyst, the medium used to summon a Servant.
Matou Kariya accepted the catalyst and began chanting the summoning spell. The Command Spells on the back of his hand flickered in response, resonating with the Lesser Grail hidden in an unknown space.
A vast surge
