Sensing danger, the remnant consciousness inside the Spirit-Devouring Engraving Knife awakened and unleashed all its ferocity. It surged like a black tide, even taking shape as a hideous face.
Unfortunately, the Soul-Devouring Spider Leg Bone was now far too powerful. The ferocity was quickly devoured, and the face formed by the remnant consciousness was torn into eight pieces and swallowed.
As the remnant consciousness and ferocity were devoured, the Spirit-Devouring Engraving Knife revealed its pure blue color. A surging vitality poured out, making Yang Hao feel refreshed in both body and mind.

Then he raised his hand and summoned his Martial Soul: one large energy orb and two small ones.
This was his Martial Soul. It had originally been the Three-Pointed Double-Edged Spear, but it had been shattered and tainted by evil power, making it difficult to reshape.
Afterward, he'd divided its Martial Soul Origin, leaving it in this state. The evil power had tainted one of the small orbs.
He controlled the metal-attributed spider leg to pierce the tainted Martial Soul Origin and devour it, fusing it with the evil attribute of the Soul-Devouring Spider Leg Bone itself and growing stronger.
### Chapter 13: Twin Martial Souls
Yang Hao's Three-Pointed Double-Edged Blade was an Innately Mutated Martial Soul, formed from the fusion of his parents' Martial Soul bloodlines.
His father, Yang Jun, had a Long Spear Martial Soul, while his mother had a Twin Dagger Martial Soul, like the Moon Blade Martial Soul of Evil Moon from the Spirit Hall Golden Generation ten thousand years ago.
The innate mutation had been simple and crude: the two had combined, with the Long Spear forming the main blade and the Twin Daggers becoming the side blades.
This made it much easier for Yang Hao to separate them. The large mass of Martial Soul Origin was the Long Spear Martial Soul, while the two smaller masses were the Twin Dagger Martial Soul. One of them had been tainted by evil power.
Now he would use the devouring ability and metal attribute of the Soul-Devouring Spider Leg Bone to reshape his Martial Souls.
Once the Martial Soul Origin had fused with the evil attribute of the Soul-Devouring Spider Leg Bone, Yang Hao used Metal Control to devour and fuse the Tyrant Tiger Soul-Refining Blade, incorporating it into the first segment of the metal-attributed spider leg.
The evil attribute of the Soul-Devouring Spider Leg Bone was entirely fused into that portion of Martial Soul Origin, dyeing it the same green as the Soul-Devouring Demon Spider. The Tyrant Tiger Soul-Refining Blade changed color along with it.
"Green! A blade!"
"Maybe I should change its shape too?"
Looking at the discolored Tyrant Tiger Soul-Refining Blade, Yang Hao couldn't help thinking of the great marshal's treasured blade from the neighboring Wu Geng Ji. That peerless blade had racked up hundreds of millions of views with its chops, and its looks were off the charts.
He did as he thought, using Metal Control to alter the shape of the blade.
Reshaping solid metal directly took quite a bit of energy, but he didn't need to change much, and he succeeded quickly.
He separated that segment of the precious blade-like spider leg, creating an independent treasured blade—or, more accurately, a Demon Blade.
This was a method Yang Hao had been planning for a long time. He'd taken inspiration from Ji Juechen's future approach: transforming Martial Souls into source energy and fusing them into a Meteorite Longsword and a Judgment Sword, ultimately creating Life Soul Tools. The same method could also reshape the Martial Soul Origin.
"I wonder if it can still evolve."
Feeling the Soul Core inside the Soul-Devouring Spider Leg Bone grow illusory and unstable, Yang Hao felt a little worried.

Yang Hao quickly figured out why. The One-Eyed Vajra Martial Soul had mutated through the fusion of the Great Strength Gorilla and Cyclops Martial Soul bloodlines, and the Cyclops possessed a chaos attribute. It was only natural that it would be drawn to the fusion.

Feeling the Chaos Soul Core gradually stabilize, Yang Hao couldn't help praising his own astonishing wisdom.

After resting and getting used to the changes, he waited for the segment of spider leg to regenerate once more. Then Yang Hao took out the spear Tai Wushuang had used—a Level 8 Soul Tool, with a body forged from Black-Veined Iron. Now it was about to become his.
That still wasn't all. He devoured and fused a Head Soul Bone he'd bought at auction as well.
The Head Soul Bone had come from a Single-Horned Fire Dragon. It had a sharp dragon horn of its own, and its Soul Skill released a Spirit Spike from that horn to directly attack an opponent's mind.
It was just right to fuse this Soul Bone Skill with the Long Spear Martial Soul. With that, his Martial Soul-splitting plan was complete. He now had three Martial Souls, though he had no idea whether they counted as Triple Martial Souls.
His Martial Souls came from the fusion and mutation of his parents' Martial Soul bloodlines, so he already had the inheritance of both. If he split them apart, they would be Twin Martial Souls.
The essence of Twin Martial Souls was awakening the Martial Soul bloodlines of both parents at once. God King Tang, for instance, had the Blue Silver Emperor and the Clear Sky Hammer.
As long as he successfully split his Martial Souls, his would also, in essence, be Twin Martial Souls.
