"Huh? I... My father really did die in battle... If he knows about this from beyond the grave, he'll surely be happy." Linoshi realized she'd misspoken and hurriedly replied, a little flustered. Her eyes darted about, and she didn't dare look at Reiz.
Reiz didn't seem inclined to call her out on it. He simply nodded.
They fell silent for two seconds.
I'm only a little way from mastering it? Reiz felt a surge of excitement and clenched his fists.
"Yes." Linoshi nodded emphatically, sincerity filling her blue eyes. "I can't wait to see how strong you'll become once you master it."
Reiz was even more eager than she was.
What would it be like to master Ultra Instinct?
"At this rate, you should master it in two more days," Linoshi answered, analyzing the situation seriously.
"Two days..." Reiz murmured.
"What are you planning to do next?" Linoshi asked, tilting her head as she looked at him.
"Seven days ago, the Prince said he was going to fight on another planet and that he'd take me with him. I'm planning to go along and see what it's like." Reiz explained, then asked Linoshi, "What about you? Want to come too?"
"Me..." Linoshi hesitated, then shook her head shyly. Her blue eyes lowered. "I'm just a support worker with a Combat Power of 200... I don't think I'm qualified to go with you."
"That's fine. I'll be there, and I'm sure the Prince will agree." Reiz smiled warmly.
You really call yourself a support worker with a Combat Power of 200?
I can already tell exactly how strong you are.
But Reiz had no intention of calling her out.
Perhaps this was simply part of an Apprentice Angel's training.
If she didn't tell him, bringing up her identity himself might interfere with her training.
"Th-then, all right." Linoshi hesitated, then nodded lightly. A faint blush appeared on her face.
"Right, I'll contact the Prince first... I don't know if he's left in the past few days." As he spoke, Reiz immediately took out his Scouter and put it over his eye.
The Scouter felt cool against his eye socket. He adjusted its position with practiced ease.
Then Reiz pressed a button on the Scouter and called Vegeta.
"Beep, beep!"
After a few soft tones, the call connected.
"Hey, Reiz, where have you been these past few days?" Vegeta's voice came through the Scouter. He sounded displeased and gave a cold snort.
"I had a few things to take care of. I've finally finished." Reiz smiled faintly and gave a brief answer.
"Hmph. I've been waiting for you. Hurry over! Come to the Spaceship Launch Center!" Vegeta grumbled, his displeasure unmistakable.
"Sure. I'll be right there," Reiz replied.
The call ended.
Reiz removed the Scouter and turned to Linoshi beside him.
Sunlight fell on her, casting a gentle glow across her lovely face.
"Let's go, Linoshi," Reiz said.
"Are you sure I can come?" Linoshi still seemed a little embarrassed. Her blue eyes lowered, and her fingers unconsciously rubbed the hem of her Battle Suit.
"If the Prince doesn't want to take you, then I won't go either," Reiz replied decisively, his tone calm but firm.
"Huh? No, you don't have to do that. You should go... I really don't mind." Linoshi waved her hands in a panic and hurried to answer, a hint of anxiety on her face.
"Let's go and see first!" Reiz smiled, finding the little Angel more and more interesting.
She had such a noble status and was so powerful, yet she was always so careful, afraid of causing trouble for others.
"All right." Linoshi nodded slightly, then glanced at Reiz.
Her blue eyes shimmered with tiny flecks of light, like a lake filled with stars.
Reiz looked back at her, too.
When Linoshi noticed his gaze, her pretty face flushed. She hurriedly looked away and lowered her head, the tips of her ears turning pink.
"Let's go!" Reiz said no more and immediately rose into the air.
Linoshi followed close behind.
This time, Reiz didn't use energy to fly. Instead, he used the Divine Power he'd just cultivated.
Flying with Divine Power didn't make his body glow at all.
The sensation was magical, as if he'd become the wind, the light, a part of the world itself.
He didn't need to exert any strength or channel anything. With just a thought, his body naturally drifted forward.
Linoshi was the same.
She quietly followed behind Reiz, graceful and composed, like a petal falling on the breeze or a fairy strolling among the clouds.
Her long black hair fluttered gently behind her. Sunlight streamed through the strands, adding a faint glow.
Though there was no light shining around him, Reiz could clearly feel that he was flying at least ten times faster than before.
The ground rushed by beneath him, mountains and rivers blurring into streaks.
Star-Shattering Cliff soon fell behind them, replaced by Saiyan settlements and training grounds.
Divine Power really was incredible!
It was amazing!
Reiz gradually increased his speed.
He knew perfectly well that Linoshi could keep up.
After all, she was an Apprentice Angel.
Generally speaking, an Apprentice Angel's strength was second only to that of a God of Destruction.
Yet she was far stronger than Son Goku had been when he first attained true Ultra Instinct in the original story.
Come to think of it... wasn't it part of Dragon Ball's lore that...
Angels weren't allowed to fight.
If an Angel fought, they would disappear.
In the original story, Apprentice Angel Merus disappeared because he fought Moro.
That was precisely what finally led Son Goku to attain true Ultra Instinct.
Later, Whis said the Grand Priest had specially created a new body for Merus, allowing him to survive.
But after that, he was no longer an Angel. He could only be considered an ordinary person.
Reiz wasn't sure if that was really the truth.
Could the Angel Clan really disappear so easily?
All it took was fighting Moro, and an Angel's halo vanished?
Reiz, at least, didn't believe it!
Besides, why would a true Angel do something like that?
As they headed for the Spaceship Launch Base, Reiz went over the Angel Clan's lore again.
The Angel Clan could do almost anything and possessed all kinds of miraculous abilities.
For instance, they could bring the dead back to life, instantly make a pregnant woman's child appear, and even use Time Reversal to turn back time by three minutes.
What's more, Angels were born with Ultra Instinct.
With a race this powerful, you're telling me they can't fight?
And how were they supposed to decide what counted as fighting?
