Gu Yue, Without Na'er

Deep within the forest, beside a beautiful lake, seven-colored light illuminated the nearby trees, reflecting off everything around it.

As the distance closed, an astonishing sight came into view.

The source of the seven-colored radiance was not some object, but a living person—a little girl who looked to be around six years old!

The girl was fast asleep, the corners of her lips slightly curved as though she were having a pleasant dream. Glowing softly, she seemed to blend into her surroundings, forming a beautiful scene.

Yet this beauty collapsed in the very next second!

The girl's brows furrowed first. Then, the curve of her lips vanished. Her originally faintly smiling expression changed in an instant, and it seemed to be getting worse by the moment.

In less than ten seconds, the seven-colored light enveloping the girl became unstable and began to ripple like a stormy sea, as though it would erupt at any moment.

Sure enough, when the girl abruptly widened her eyes and sat up from the ground, the seven-colored radiance exploded outward like a shockwave.

"Was she... killed?"

The girl's face was filled with disbelief, as though something impossible had appeared before her eyes.

"How is that possible? She was the other half I split off!"

"Even a powerful human couldn't have eliminated her without making a sound!"

The girl's identity was extraordinarily special. Though she appeared to be no more than a six-year-old girl, her true identity was terrifyingly significant!

Gu Yuena, the Silver Dragon King, half of the Dragon God, and ruler of all soul beasts. Because the soul beasts of Douluo Continent were already nearing extinction, this powerful being had been forced to make a final decision. Since humans had destroyed the world of soul beasts, Gu Yuena could likewise destroy humanity!

However, the Silver Dragon King had slept for far too long and knew nothing about the outside world. Thus, in order to destroy humanity from its roots, she chose to take human form, learn about humans, and then crush them from within!

She had simply never expected that, when she transformed into a human, she would split into two bodies representing the consciousness of soul beasts and the consciousness of humans. Gu Yue was the primary personality, while Na'er was the secondary personality... but Na'er had accidentally become separated from her during the split.

Gu Yue had not worried much about it. Although Na'er possessed only thirty percent of the Silver Dragon King's strength, she was not someone an ordinary Titled Douluo could kill so easily. Gu Yue could therefore focus on recuperating.

Yet that belief had just been shattered!

"Cough, cough—!"

Gu Yue spat out a trace of blood. Though her face was filled with fury, her complexion had turned deathly pale. As half of the Silver Dragon King, it was virtually impossible for Gu Yue to fall ill. The only explanation was likely backlash.

"Humans... humans..."

"Damn humans!"

Despite her exquisite features, Gu Yue's expression twisted completely at that moment. As the ruler of all soul beasts, Gu Yuena naturally could not possibly view humans favorably; one could even say she despised them intensely.

Gu Yue herself had inherited Gu Yuena's soul beast side, and her feelings toward humans had not changed in the slightest. It was only because of the part that was friendly toward humans—Na'er—that she had never done anything too extreme.

But with Na'er completely gone, Gu Yue no longer had that burden. Moreover, having lost part of her origin, her hatred for humanity grew even stronger.

"What should I do?"

Hatred was hatred, but after calming down, a trace of confusion inevitably surfaced in Gu Yue's heart.

Na'er might have appeared to be an ordinary person, but her body contained thirty percent of the Silver Dragon King's power. Even if she died, it should have left some effect behind. Yet Na'er had vanished without a sound, and the backlash had even appeared in Gu Yue herself.

"Have humans actually gained such powerful strength?"

Though she was unwilling to admit it, Gu Yue could sense that over these twenty thousand years, the number of soul beasts had begun to decline drastically. She had simply never expected humans to gain the power to contend with her so soon.

"No. If this continues, even I may be unable to save the remaining soul beasts... and destroying humanity will be nothing but a foolish dream!"

Gu Yue wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, her expression becoming exceptionally grim. Her mind raced as she considered what path she should take in the future.

If even Na'er, who possessed thirty percent of the Silver Dragon King's strength, could be dealt with so easily without even a whisper getting out, it was enough to show that humanity's current power had already far surpassed her own.

If she openly exposed herself to humans in the future, Gu Yue did not know what fate awaited her, but it certainly would not be better than Na'er's.

"As expected, I never should have trusted humans!"

In Gu Yue's eyes, Na'er had clearly made the wrong choice by trusting humans. After careful consideration, Gu Yue changed her plans.

She naturally still needed to understand humanity. Only by knowing an enemy's weaknesses could she truly destroy them.

But Gu Yue would not enter a human academy to study as she had in the original story. After all, she did not know Tang Wulin at all, nor did she need to fulfill her wager with Na'er.

Although the Silver Dragon King's overall strength had weakened, and even Gu Yuena's will likely could not return, Gu Yue was clearly stronger now than ever before! She no longer had a love-addled mind, no pity for humans, and no lingering worries whatsoever!

All she needed to do was devote herself wholeheartedly to the plan of destroying humanity. She did not need to consider the feelings of so many people as she had in the original work.

"Di Tian!"

Following Gu Yue's call, a streak of black light flew over from the depths of the forest and arrived before her in the blink of an eye.

"My Lord, what are your orders?"

The black-haired, golden-eyed man knelt on one knee before Gu Yue, his expression filled with such reverence that his identity was not hard to guess.

The Beast God, Di Tian!

Yet this so-called Beast God was utterly insignificant before the Silver Dragon King, ruler of all soul beasts and half of the Dragon God.

"Di Tian, contact that fish!"

"Our situation is already urgent. We must gather every bit of strength we can use!"

Hearing Gu Yue's words, Di Tian jerked his head up and stared at his lord in shock. He had never expected her to make such a decision.

"But, my Lord... that one cannot be trusted..." Though delighted by his lord's change, Di Tian still offered his counsel.

"Of course I know that!"

Gu Yue's expression was full of cold indifference. Even Di Tian could not imagine what she had gone through to become like this.

"She will definitely find a way to turn against us, but not now."

"Wasn't her husband killed by humans? I only trust her hatred for humanity. So at least until humans become the weaker side, she will cooperate with us properly!"
