Captain Capitano could not move at all, pinned in place by the power of time.
Istaroth, the Archon of Time, swept the short blade in her hand across Captain Capitano's body.
"Three... two... one!"
Each time Istaroth made a cut, blood sprayed from Capitano's body, only to be frozen in time as well.
The result was a gruesome, uncanny sight that made their scalps tingle.
"Time was frozen, leaving him no chance to fight back. The power of time really is terrifying."
Mavuika could not help but say it.
She had fought the Captain and knew his strength. Even a god skilled in combat might not be his match.
Yet before the power of time, someone as strong as the Captain looked utterly helpless.
By the same token, if she, the Pyro Archon, faced an opponent like one of the Four Shades, she would probably be just as helpless.
The scene then shifted back to Rhinedottir, the Archon of Life.
She seemed to relish the hunt. She could easily destroy the test subjects Dottore had created, but she was in no hurry to catch him.
Instead, she strolled through the laboratory, watching Dottore run on ahead.
Dottore smiled at the Archon of Life pursuing him. Clearly, this too was part of his plan.
Strictly speaking, Rhinedottir and Dottore were the same sort of person: both were mad scientists.
Their research simply took different paths. Rhinedottir pursued alchemy to its utmost limits, which was why she had created Albedo, the Kreideprinz.
Dottore, on the other hand, was driven more by a desire to surpass all limits. That was why he had tried to seize the power of the Three Moons and later caused trouble inside Irminsul.
What would happen when two such madmen faced each other? It was hard not to
