The situation in the Northwest Circuit was indeed tricky. A Military Governor had been killed, and there had to be an explanation for it.
"Do we know who did it?" Su Xin asked.
Tie Zhan said gravely, "It was definitely those Northwest Alien Tribes. They're the only ones in the entire Northwest Circuit with the nerve to do something like this.
"But we don't know the exact reason yet. You'll have to investigate thoroughly and resolve this as soon as possible."
Su Xin nodded. "All right. I'll set off with my men right away."
There was no time to wait for Huang Bingcheng, so Su Xin had someone inform him to return to Shengjing City on his own. Su Xin himself led several hundred men toward the Northwest Circuit.
The group was small, but even the weakest among them had reached the Xiantian Realm. They were all his trusted subordinates, and they would be more than enough to scout ahead.
Su Xin had brought both Li Huai and Huang Bingcheng with him. Qi Long, as Shengjing City Chief Constable, couldn't leave; he still had to manage the city's local affairs.
The Northwest Circuit bordered Great Zhou and the Golden Tent Khanate. Though it covered a vast area, most of it consisted of barren mountains, grasslands, wastelands, and hills. There were few places fit for people to live, unlike the Central Plains, where much of the land was blessed with beautiful scenery and well suited to sects.
That didn't mean the Northwest Circuit was weak, however. Its rugged folkways naturally fostered a thriving martial culture, and with no major sects exerting pressure, countless heroes had risen from humble origins there.
It was said that the ancestors of Shen Wuming, the "Heaven-Leveling King" and leader of the Seven Heroes Assembly, had been
