Zhang Tie had been hiding behind a cluster of pine needles in his beetle avatar, watching all along. After the old monster swept the clouds from the surrounding sky and found nothing, he circled twice before flying away. Yet Zhang Tie did not move, continuing to wait patiently. Sure enough, an hour later, the old monster appeared in the sky again. He had doubled back, circling once more. Only after confirming that there truly was nothing did he leave behind a long sigh in the air and fly off in the direction from which he had pursued Zhang Tie.
A brightly colored venomous snake silently crawled over along the trunk of the pine tree. Upon seeing the tiny beetle Zhang Tie had become, it opened its jaws to bite. The little beetle lightly leaped up, spun around, and landed directly on the head of the venomous snake that had been about to attack. It released a trace of a beetle's aura. This tiny beetle was absolutely a ferocious creature. The moment that faint aura was released, the snake, which had just been baring its fangs in savage menace, instantly became like a lamb with its throat clamped in a lion's jaws. Its entire body stiffened, and it did not dare move a single inch.
Zhang Tie flew away again without doing anything to the venomous snake. The stiff-bodied snake no longer coiled around the branch, instead dropping straight from the pine tree. Only after hitting the ground did it seem to be jolted awake. It slithered miserably into the grass and fled in panic.
Flying away from the treetop, Zhang Tie identified the direction and headed directly toward Flat Sand Valley in his little beetle avatar.
After flying more than a hundred kilometers and reaching a secluded spot in the
