After touring the production plant for Torch Oil Blastflame Bombs, the Chief Governor also visited the torch oil production bases, aircraft factories, engine plants, vehicle factories, Air Cavalry Flight Academy, and other sites within Torch Dragon Territory.
One torch oil production base in Torch Dragon Territory had now officially begun operations, with six more set to come online one after another. Within the next two years, Torch Dragon Territory's torch oil output would reach four million tons annually. Correspondingly, the area of newly reclaimed farmland within the territory would expand, especially the acreage planted with corn each year, which would double. At this point, corn was no longer being grown merely to feed people—it was being grown for war.
The aircraft factories in Torch Dragon Territory could now produce seventy fully finalized Air Cavalry Type 1 aircraft per day, and that capacity was still steadily increasing. During the tour of the aircraft factory, Zhang Tie frankly admitted to the Chief Governor that seventy aircraft per day was still far from his target. His requirement was for Torch Dragon Territory to produce one hundred thousand aircraft of various types per year. The aircraft factories in Torch Dragon Territory would need to expand their present capacity by at least fourfold to meet Zhang Tie's needs.
Besides the Air Cavalry Type 1, the larger Air Cavalry Type 2, with a longer range and greater payload capacity, was also under development.
Torch Dragon Territory's engine factories could now produce four types of engines. One was the aircraft Dual-Drive Engine used by Air Cavalry models; another was the Dual-Drive Engine used in vehicles; yet another was still being designed, intended for tanks and armored vehicles.
During this tour of the various sites in Torch Dragon Territory, the three of them flew directly from place to
