The northeastern region of the Nine Heavens Grand Domain was Martial Emperor Temple territory. The Martial Emperor Temple had several hundred cities here, with a population of over two billion. It was an exceptionally prosperous region.
Among these cities of the Martial Emperor Temple, Red Mountain City was an utterly inconspicuous one by population.
Situated near the northernmost edge of the Nine Heavens Grand Domain, surrounded by mountains with no large cities nearby, Red Mountain City had a small population of barely over a million. There were few local specialties or products, and trade was underdeveloped. The entire city centered on agriculture, supplemented by several small iron mines and workshops. Like the other small cities in the Sky-Piercing Realm that belonged to various temples, it was entirely self-sufficient. The temple stood high above all, and the people of the city were all temple believers. Everything proceeded in an orderly fashion. Unless something major happened in such a city, outsiders might not hear its name even once in several hundred years.
Ji Yuelan and Jiang Ruoxin's destination was Red Mountain City.
After flying for most of the night, the sky had only just brightened when the airship carrying Ji Yuelan and Jiang Ruoxin arrived at Red Mountain City.
At the airship landing ground outside Red Mountain City, the disguised Ji Yuelan and Jiang Ruoxin followed the crowd off the airship and headed into the city with practiced ease. After circling the city twice, the two covered for each other and split up. Once they had again confirmed that neither was being followed, they regrouped. Half an hour later, they arrived outside a luxurious fortified manor backed by mountains and facing water beyond the city.
