Among the hundreds of islands, large and small, throughout the Ewindara Archipelago, Star Moon Island was not the largest, but it was the most famous. For on this island had been born the Ewindara Archipelago's one and only Knight—the Star-Moon Sword Saint, Samaranch.
Samaranch was the pride of the entire Ewindara Archipelago. It was because he had once lived on that island that it took his name and became Star Moon Island. Likewise, because of the Star-Moon Sword Saint's existence, the Ewindara Archipelago's largest school of swordsmanship had arisen on Star Moon Island—the Star-Moon Sword Sect.
Once upon a time, every expert in the Ewindara Archipelago took pride in wielding a sword. Samaranch had founded his sect on Star Moon Island, and at its zenith, he had tens of thousands of disciples. The entire Star Moon Island had become a sacred land of martial arts for the Ewindara Archipelago.
But all of that had come to an end when the Star-Moon Sword Saint Samaranch died in the Ice and Snow Wilderness for the Star of God.

But as time passed, and there was still no word at all from Samaranch after three whole years in the Ice and Snow Wilderness, as that rumor increasingly came to resemble the truth, Star Moon Island gradually began to wither away.
