The uninvited guest was the chief of the Moral Society in Blessed Sea City, a man named Yang Yushan.
Having just settled into the hotel, Zhang Tie received word that someone wished to visit him. He was somewhat surprised—he had only just arrived in Blessed Sea City, yet the Devouring Party already knew. What did that mean? It meant the Devouring Party had kept his whereabouts under constant watch. That so-called society chief had rushed over to see him so quickly; this was the Devouring Party giving him a show of force.
Zhang Tie sneered inwardly and gave his orders. "Tell that whatever-his-name chief of the Moral Society that I'm tired from riding the airship and am bathing. Afterward, I need to rest, so I have no time to see him. If he wants to see me, let him wait!"
After giving the order, Zhang Tie really did take his time soaking in a comfortable hot bath. Then he summoned one of the hotel's senior massage therapists for a massage, before ordering dinner to be delivered to his room.
By the time he had finished bathing, receiving his massage, and eating, more than three hours had passed. Night had slowly fallen, and after such relaxation, the trace of weariness accumulated from over two months of ceaseless cultivation aboard the airship had vanished without a trace.
Even by then, the chief of the Blessed Sea City Moral Society had not left. He again sent someone to request an audience. After giving it some thought, Zhang Tie had that fellow named Yang Yushan brought up, to see what medicine the Devouring Party had hidden in its gourd.
