The sky of the Earth Element Realm reminded Zhang Tie of his Castle of Black Iron. Here, too, night brought dimmer light, and the strange layer of clouds overhead offered visibility much like nighttime on the surface.
At night on the surface, sometimes the moon shone bright and the stars sparse, granting excellent visibility; other times, dark clouds veiled the moon and one could not see one's hand before one's face. It was the same underground. The peculiar cloud layer in the sky of the Earth Element Realm seemed to naturally mirror the weather of the surface world.
Besides the distinction between day and night, the Earth Element Realm, which was constantly exchanging air with the surface, also had the changing of seasons and every kind of weather.
Less than half an hour after Zhang Tie left the Knight Tower, the sky outside Lion Fortress had gone completely dark.
