The entire statue was purple, as if cast from purple copper, though that was merely its texture. In truth, there was no way such a statue could have been made from so ordinary a metal as purple copper.

The furnace coiled around by the statue was covered in dense, countless runes, as well as patterns and sculptures of all manner of strange animals, so lifelike they seemed ready to spring to life. Before the furnace stood the altar. Its exact position was directly opposite the opening of the furnace door. The entire altar was connected to the furnace, either a part of the furnace itself or a part of the entire structure beneath the statue.
