Formation and absorption

• Absorption grants Soul Power and a Soul Skill. Xia Ming’s first ring elevated him to the peak of level 16 and granted Red-Gold Transformation 11.
• A Soul Ring is more than a source of skills: it supplements and directionally reinforces the origin of the Martial Soul, making the bloodline and compatibility of its source Soul Beast important 9.
• For rings below ten thousand years, absorption is determined primarily by physical constitution and willpower because they do not inflict soul shock 7.
• Traditional theory places the first-ring absorption limit at 420 years, though exceptional physiques can exceed this limit 7.
• Once fully absorbed, a conventional Soul Ring’s manifested form dissipates and its essence becomes part of the Soul Master 10.

Soul skills

• Soul Skills may be direct attacks, transformations, domains, defensive abilities, or percentage-based amplifications.
• Percentage-based augmentation skills scale with the user’s base attributes and can remain valuable at high cultivation levels 7.
• Xia Ming’s first two amplification rings raise his attack power by a combined 350%; Sky-Rending Tear then doubles his next attack on top of those existing boosts 49.
• The seventh Soul Ring is especially significant because it grants the Avatar of the Martial Soul, whose power and duration are tied to the ring’s age 50.

Special Soul Rings

God-Bestowed Soul Rings

• God-Bestowed Soul Rings are golden orbs containing divine power that can become Soul Rings of any age according to the absorber’s capacity and will 64.
• The Qilin God King gives Xia Ming two such rings, directing him to attach one to each of his Martial Souls 64 70.
• Xia Ming forces his fifth ring to two hundred thousand years despite the life-threatening strain of the process 71.

God-level origin rings

• The Water and Fire Dragon Kings’ residual origin power becomes two god-level Soul Rings for Xia Ming’s Holy Qilin Martial Soul 154.
• The Dragon Core, refined by Mu En for a century, forms a white-gold Soul Ring after Xia Ming filters its Dragon God influence through the Qilin God Position 162 163.
• Er Ming’s ring is described as Xia Ming’s first complete god-level Soul Ring, distinct from the incomplete divine origins of the Dragon Kings and Dragon Core 170.

Soul Spirits

• A Soul Spirit is created through a contract linking a Soul Beast’s soul origin with a Soul Master’s soul 124.
• Unlike a conventional Soul Ring, a Soul Spirit retains its consciousness, can grow alongside its contractor, and may act independently while maintaining its own form 124.
• A Soul Spirit can replace a Soul Ring while still helping its contractor advance and use Soul Skills 124.
• Thousand-year Soul Spirits can provide two Soul Ring slots; ten-thousand-year Soul Spirits can carry three to four Soul Skills that are bestowed as the Soul Master grows 103.
• Soul Spirit contracts can be inherited by descendants or successors who meet the conditions and gain the Soul Spirit’s recognition 103.
• Xiong Jun becomes Xia Ming’s eighth Soul Ring through a Soul Spirit contract rather than being killed for a conventional ring 157.

Spirit Pagoda and artificial alternatives

• Xia Ming establishes the Spirit Pagoda to regulate Soul Spirit contracts and demonstrate a nonlethal alternative to Soul Beast hunting 104.
• More than ninety percent of Soul Masters later obtain Soul Spirits through Spirit Pagoda branches rather than entering Soul Beast forests to hunt rings 204.
