Ch. 541Humanoid World Beasts were a great invention
Key plot points and events
- Reaching level 50 restores Chen Ming’s depleted reserves. With ten World Law Fragments and an unexpected Abyssal Heart, he considers his mission on the Desolate Star complete—but continues fighting to collect more fragments and gain enough experience to advance.
- A level 54 World Beast appears: a dead Three-Eye Race Saint whose body and collapsed mind have been taken over by demonic energy, making it a powerful Blood Race–created blood slave.
- The creature attacks with Eternal Storm, but Chen Ming meets it head-on with his Purple-Gold Trident and Minor Scourge. Its world-enhanced offense is dangerous, but its Saint-level body lacks a true World Beast’s durability. Chen Ming quickly overwhelms and kills it.
- The level 55 World Beast is also humanoid. Chen Ming defeats it with repeated Minor Scourge attacks, earning rewards from both battles and moving closer to level 50.
Character development
- Chen Ming remains focused on strengthening himself and gathering World Law Fragments, especially because he believes Blue Star needs a true Deity to survive possible dangers in the Chaos Star Domain.
- His confidence grows as he discovers that humanoid World Beasts’ immense attack power is offset by their comparatively fragile bodies. He turns what was designed as a deadly trap into an opportunity.
Themes
- Power and vulnerability: High offensive strength does not guarantee resilience; Chen Ming exploits the blood slaves’ weakness.
- Preparation and adaptability: The Blood Race’s strategy is dangerous against ordinary Saints, but Chen Ming’s unusual resistance to world-grade attacks lets him counter it.
- Threats beyond the battlefield: Chen Ming’s pursuit of fragments is tied to protecting Blue Star from wider, still-unclear developments.
Character interactions
- The Three-Eye Blood Slave attacks Chen Ming with Eternal Storm; Chen Ming counters aggressively and kills it before it can mount an effective response.
- The level 55 humanoid World Beast meets the same fate. Chen Ming jokes that the Blood Race has done him a favor by creating such convenient opponents, while recognizing that they were intended to ambush Human Race Saints.
