Hashirama fought on battlefields from childhood alongside Madara. Their shared experiences ultimately led them to build Konoha, seeking an end to the cycle that forced children into war 7.

He was elected First Hokage by the village in a landslide. His administration is credited with bringing a tangible period of peace, allowing children such as Qile to grow up without immediately being sent to battle 13.

Hashirama expected Madara to succeed him as Second Hokage, considering Madara the person best suited to lead the village. Madara’s outright refusal deeply upset him and exposed a serious fracture in their partnership 30 31.
