Slurp! Slurp!
"Whoa! I'm alive again! This is delicious! Boss, your ramen is so good!"
Might Duy picked up his bowl and gulped down the broth, slurping his ramen with a satisfied sigh.
"Hahahaha, thanks for the praise. Seeing you enjoy your meal is the best reward I could ask for."
Maruda made ramen as he watched Might Duy wolf it down, a happy smile on his face.
"Boss! I feel like your ramen has restored my strength! Now I can keep training!"
Might Duy set down his bowl, patted his stomach, and spoke with satisfaction. Then he took the fresh bowl Maruda had made for him and continued eating.
At that moment, Might Duy and Hyuga Shinichi sat side by side inside the little ramen cart. Beside each of them stood a pile of stacked ramen bowls.
Might Duy's bowls towered like a mountain reaching into the clouds. Hyuga Shinichi's pile was much less impressive, though he had still managed to stack up quite a few.
Clearly, the two were engaged in a special contest to see who could eat more ramen.
It all went back to half an hour earlier.
Hyuga Shinichi had carried the unconscious Might Duy to the Maruda Ramen Cart and gently laid him on a stool, his head resting on the table. Then Hyuga Shinichi called out to Maruda.
"Uncle Maruda, two Deluxe Tonkotsu Ramen, please!"
As they waited for the ramen, the unconscious Might Duy suddenly seemed to speak. But it was actually his stomach making the noise. It must have caught the aroma of the ramen, because it began to rumble as though urging them to hurry up and serve the food.
