"What's going on here?"
After all these years on the Dou Qi Continent, attending grand gatherings with the various factions and maintaining close exchanges, this was indeed the first time she had seen a scene like this.
She had seen people seeking revenge, and she had seen people deliberately stirring up trouble, but she had never seen anyone flee in panic the moment their auras collided.
Could that person be running for his life?
"Has he been running for his life so long that he's fleeing without even looking where he's going?"
Seeing the man who had seemed so imposing just moments ago turn and vanish without a trace, Xiao Yan felt somewhat slighted, but he was hardly about to pursue him over something so trivial.
Still, accidents were unavoidable.
"Or is someone chasing him?"
Xiao Yan murmured instinctively. It was merely a natural train of thought, but before Yao Wan could respond, the distant horizon seemed to answer his muttering with a response of its own.
"To run into something like this the moment we arrive... there's really no one else as unlucky as us."
Her quiet grumbling still echoing from her lips, Yao Wan shifted her gaze away from the direction in which the man had fled and looked toward another direction—the one from which he had come.
A furious roar like a dragon's cry exploded beside their ears, rumbling like muffled thunder. Yet there was not a single cloud in the sky above, or anywhere within a thousand miles of their sight. A streak of light violently shattered the constraints of space and raced toward Yao Wan and the others.
"Seriously? Another one?"
Xiao Yan grumbled reflexively. This arriving aura was far stronger than the previous one, almost on par with Xiao Yan and Yao Wan themselves.
