Looking at Li Ang's expression, Yun Yue was actually a bit bewildered.
Her first reaction was that the boy in front of her was angry, or perhaps sulking with her.
However, upon closer observation, she realized that the boy's gaze was fixed on her, or rather, fixed on the blackboard behind her.
This left Yun Yue unable to grasp exactly what kind of mood Li Ang was in.
As the bell for class rang, Yun Yue paused for a moment before she began the lesson.
The curriculum for the primary class was actually quite simple, yet Li Ang studied it very earnestly, for these simple pieces of knowledge often contained many profound principles.
This stuff was just like physics; only by laying a solid foundation and understanding everything one ought to know could one grasp the whole from the parts.
"Today, we are learning about martial soul techniques, as well as the identification of martial souls and their related categories."
Yun Yue spoke very seriously, but as her gaze swept across the room, almost none of the students were listening.
This was only a primary class, and since she was lecturing on boring fundamental knowledge, very few children were paying attention.
Most of the children were either chatting and laughing with their seatmates, staring at their own hands, or biting their nails.
As for the stronger ones, they were either engrossed in reading other books or giggling about something unknown.
This made Yun Yue feel a bit discouraged, but as her gaze circled the room, she noticed there were indeed some who were listening.
For instance, Li Ang was sitting in the very back, holding a cowhide notebook and frantically taking notes.
This scene left Yun Yue a bit stunned, but she subconsciously expanded upon her lecture.
After all, she had graduated from a standard institution of higher learning, and this knowledge was very simple—the most basic of basics—so she felt no burden while teaching it.
Meanwhile, Xie Xie kept turning his head to look at Li Ang.
Seeing the boy's earnest demeanor, Xie Xie's expression turned somewhat complicated.
Since there were only three periods, the morning classes passed by very quickly.
After school, Li Ang looked over his notes while pondering matters of blacksmithing.
The private teacher Shen Ming had arranged for him would arrive either today or tomorrow; though he didn't know who it would be, the teacher shouldn't be too bad.
Because he had an understanding of the plot and the timeline, he was also quite familiar with the local Haicheng Blacksmith Association.
The strongest blacksmith here was naturally that Level 8 Blacksmith, Mu Chen.
With his strength, he could serve as the president of a blacksmith association even in some top-tier metropolises.
So, for him to appear in a peripheral large city like Eastsea City, Li Ang felt it was likely a forced plot setting—after all, that was a Level 8 Blacksmith, and there were fewer than twenty in the entire Federation.
A slightly lesser one was Cen Yue, who should also be a Level 6 Blacksmith, and whose strength was more in line with the standard power level of Eastsea City.
It didn't matter to Li Ang which teacher he ended up with; what he wanted was to acquire knowledge, and then to see what kind of bonuses his Elemental Mastery, or rather the Rex Lapis template, provided for combat.
Thinking about these things, Li Ang walked quickly, completely unaware of Xie Xie behind him.
By the time Xie Xie walked out, Li Ang had already gone quite far, almost reaching the entrance.
Looking at the boy's hurried footsteps, Xie Xie opened his mouth, but didn't know what to say.
Inside the Spirit Pagoda, Li Ang followed Ming Yue to the cafeteria.
After the two of them had a simple meal, Li Ang asked Ming Yue about a question he was curious about.
"Aunt Ming Yue, I would like to ask when the teacher will be arranged for my blacksmithing lessons?"
"I am quite interested in blacksmithing, and I've heard that the earlier one starts, the better the results."
Li Ang looked at Ming Yue, speaking very seriously. Seeing his earnest expression, Ming Yue was taken aback.
A faint smile appeared on her face, and she nodded gently.
"As for blacksmithing, that is indeed true; the earlier one learns, the more meaningful it is. The teacher has already been arranged for you; it is Cen Yue, the vice president of the Haicheng Blacksmith Association."
"He is a Level 6 Blacksmith, but because he is currently away, he will only return tomorrow, and only then will he be able to teach you blacksmithing techniques."
Ming Yue explained in great detail and with much sincerity.
However, Li Ang didn't care about the process at all, as long as the result was secured, so he simply nodded.
"Then I'll trouble you, Sister Ming Yue, to send some fruit over around one o'clock this afternoon. I plan to go to the Spirit Ascension Platform to upgrade my spirit soul."
As Li Ang spoke, he stood up, grabbed a napkin to wipe his mouth, and headed toward the upper levels without a moment's hesitation.
Li Ang calling her 'Aunt' one moment and 'Sister' the next left Ming Yue feeling a bit dazed.
But having grown somewhat accustomed to his unusual behavior, Ming Yue simply stood there quietly.
As the pitch-black electronic door slowly slid open, Li Ang looked at the individual cultivation pod in front of him with a look of curiosity.
He had already read the records, and since such operations were not difficult for him, he simply studied it once and entered the cultivation pod calmly.
Lying inside the pod, Li Ang pressed two buttons.
As the surrounding air was extracted, he could clearly feel his consciousness becoming subtle, or rather, a sense of drowsiness washing over him.
By the time Li Ang opened his eyes and regained his focus, the surrounding environment had completely changed, becoming an entirely unfamiliar place.
Stepping into this environment, Li Ang's eyes held a spark of curiosity as he surveyed the surrounding forest.
He sniffed the air lightly, sensing his surroundings; everything here, from the atmosphere to every other detail, felt incredibly real.
Yet, as Li Ang ran his hands over the trees and various objects, he could clearly feel that the tactile feedback was only around ten to fifteen percent.
Touch and pain are relative; when pain sensitivity is dialed down, tactile sensation follows suit.
However, most people who come here couldn't care less about that.
After all, pain and touch were irrelevant to them; they came solely to test themselves and hunt spirit beasts.
In such circumstances, naturally, the lower the pain setting, the better.
What a pity. If only I could crank the pain sensitivity to one hundred percent; it would certainly be interesting to experience that state of agony.
This is practically the perfect venue. Humans are born with an innate fear of death, but if one were to be killed dozens or hundreds of times within the Spirit Ascension Platform, would they still fear death so much?
Li Ang muttered to himself as he spoke.
After a moment of thought, he flicked his hand, and Li Liushou appeared before him.
The Little Black Dog scanned its surroundings and stuck its tongue out at Li Ang.
"What are you staring at? Go find something yourself. Try to hunt ten-year spirit beasts; you're a hundred-year spirit beast, surely you can handle a ten-year one, right?"
Li Ang looked at Li Liushou as he finished speaking.
The Little Black Dog froze for a moment before nodding earnestly.
It then underwent a transformation; the puppy that had looked only recently born suddenly grew into a massive black dog nearly a meter in length.
Watching the black dog's figure bolt away, Li Ang headed directly in the opposite direction.
