Shrek Academy was founded by Flender, who established its defining principle: it would accept only “monsters,” not ordinary students. The academy first gained continent-wide fame when its original seven students—the first Shrek Seven Devils—defeated Spirit Hall in the final of the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament under Tang San’s leadership. That victory laid the foundation for Shrek’s later status as the continent’s foremost academy. 184

The academy has stood for ten thousand years, expanding from a small school into an institution embedded within the vast Shrek City. Shrek City

Shrek Academy occupies the inner city of Shrek City, while the outer city contains commercial districts, residences, inns, and other public facilities. The academy itself covers nearly one-third of the city, and its Outer Court alone has more than five thousand students. 8

Freshmen and lower-grade Outer Court students live in uniform four-story dormitory buildings. Su Chen was assigned to Room 108 during his first year. 10

Shrek Seven Devils

Every five years, Shrek selects a new generation of Shrek Seven Devils to represent the academy in the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Soul Fighting Tournament. Reserve members are evaluated continuously over five years and must be strong enough to enter the Inner Court before they can truly represent Shrek. 184

Continental Influence
