At the border between the Land of Fire and the Land of Lightning.
Inside a hidden cave, Konoha Ninja had gathered, more or less injured.
Every one of them looked utterly despondent.
"Those damn Cloud Ninja attacked while we were locked in a decisive battle with the Rock Ninja and Sand Ninja."
"We only have twenty-nine people left. They have at least a hundred, and the ones leading them are the infamous AB Duo of the Cloud Ninja."
"They're the Cloud Ninja's candidates for Raikage and the Eight-Tails Jinchuriki!"
"If we don't retreat now, once they surround us, we'll be as good as dead."
The Konoha Ninja in the cave grew anxious.
The Third Shinobi World War had begun with the disappearance of the Third Kazekage. The Rock Ninja had seized the opportunity to break through the Kannabi Bridge defenses and attack Konoha.
The Land of Water had launched a sudden attack, forcing Konoha to open three battlefronts on its own.
They had thought the rear would remain secure, but the Cloud Ninja had also lost patience and sent elite forces around to attack them.
In no time, Konoha had been forced to pull together troops and open a fourth battlefront.
But against the Cloud Ninja, this motley band of shinobi assembled from all over was clearly outmatched.
They had already lost more than half their numbers fighting the enemy's vanguard.
Now the enemy had deliberately spread word of the AB Duo, intending to make them surrender without a fight.
"Have we heard back about the reinforcements we requested?"
"We have. Lord Yellow Flash Minato Namikaze is coming in person."
"Lord Minato? Isn't he fighting the decisive battle at Mount Kikyo? By the time the Cloud Ninja arrive, he probably won't be able to get here."
The excitement on everyone's faces vanished at once.
Minato Namikaze had become famous during the Third Shinobi World War and earned a fearsome reputation.
Unfortunately, distant water could not put out a nearby fire. It would be difficult for them to hold this pass on their own.
"Given the Cloud Ninja's speed, they'll arrive in three days. We're no match for them in individual combat, and if you add the AB Duo, we're certain to lose," one Konoha Ninja said, unable to contain himself.
As soon as he finished speaking, everyone's eyes turned to the two men leading them.
For this fourth battlefront, Root, under Danzo's command, had assigned two jonin to lead the troops.
They were Aburame Torune and Yamanaka Fu.
"Let's check on the wounded first. If their injuries are too serious, we'll leave them all behind," Yamanaka Fu said gravely.
"This time, if the Uchiha Clan member assigned to our squad had been Body Flicker Shisui, we probably wouldn't need to retreat."
"That Uchiha Qin Yu is incredibly unlucky. He was badly wounded by an Explosive Tag formation as soon as he got to the battlefield. I heard his Sharingan only has one tomoe."
The sound of heated discussion came from the cave entrance.
Qin Yu, around fourteen or fifteen years old, opened his eyes in confusion.
Seeing the wounded lying around him, he couldn't help but feel stunned.
What the hell? I really did transmigrate.
And I became an Uchiha, a clan that's destined to be wiped out sooner or later. This looks like the battlefield of the Third Shinobi World War, too!
Qin Yu was dumbfounded. The memories rapidly coming together in his mind left him feeling disoriented.
His first moment here, and he was already in a fight for his life!
Wasn't this just sending him to his death?
And from what they'd just said, they were planning to abandon the wounded and retreat.
He really was going to end up as cannon fodder.
Damn it, am I going to be the fastest person in the transmigration army to die? Getting sent to the slaughter right at the start isn't my style.
"Ding! One-Click Max Level cheat activated successfully. Use it now?"
"Cheat? One-Click Max Level?"
Qin Yu was stunned!
This was happiness arriving out of nowhere!
No!
He should say that a cheat was standard equipment for anyone who transmigrated—and this one had arrived just in time.
"Activate the One-Click Max Level cheat!" Qin Yu hurriedly ordered.
"Ding! Congratulations, host. Activation successful. Building database."
Host: Uchiha Qin Yu Ninja Rank: Chunin Ninjutsu: Fire Style: Great Fireball, Dragon Fire Technique, Shadow Clone, Body Flicker Technique, One-Tomoe Sharingan.
Looking at this bare-bones status panel, Qin Yu finally understood why everyone outside looked so dismissive.
The Uchiha Clan was full of talented people. With strength like his, he was nothing but dead weight among them.
"Scan complete. Would the host like to use One-Click Max Level now?"
"Use it now." Qin Yu immediately gave the command. It was a windfall—he might as well use it.
"Ding! Sharingan maxed out!"
"Mangekyō Sharingan unlocked. Congratulations, host. You have gained the hidden abilities Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, and Susanoo!"
"Ding! Great Fireball Technique maxed out!"
"Ding! Dragon Fire Technique maxed out!"
"Ding! Body Flicker Technique maxed out!"
"Ding! Shadow Clone Technique maxed out. Multiple Shadow Clone unlocked."
"Ding! Multiple Shadow Clone maxed out."
A string of system notifications flashed through his mind.
Watching this unfold, Qin Yu was a little dazed.
It meant that any ninjutsu Qin Yu came into contact with could be instantly maxed out.
Whether it was Susanoo, Tsukuyomi, or Amaterasu, they were all devastating techniques capable of destroying anything in their path.
"Other people have to train for decades and pour their hearts and souls into it to achieve what I can max out with one click. Having a cheat really is damn awesome."
Feeling the immense ocular power welling up in his eyes, Qin Yu couldn't help smiling.
"Qin Yu, don't move around. Your wounds have only just closed. It'll be bad if they open again." Shizune, her hair black, appeared in Qin Yu's field of vision.
She was the only medical ninja assigned to the entire squad.
After this battle, death might be a relief. Living, on the other hand, felt like a sin.
At least, seeing Shizune's face pale and covered in sweat, it was obvious she had exhausted too much chakra and energy.
As the medical chakra in her hands began to glow again, Qin Yu reached out to stop her.
"Don't worry. I'm nearly recovered. You should rest for a while. If you keep going, I'm worried you'll exhaust yourself and pass out," Qin Yu advised.
Shizune stubbornly shook her head and bit her lip. "Lady Tsunade once said that medical ninjas are the last guardians of life on the battlefield. If even I give up, they'll be abandoned, too."
"I can't accept it. If I were as strong as Lady Tsunade and could summon Lady Katsuyu to help heal everyone, they wouldn't have to be abandoned." Shizune's eyes reddened. She knelt on the ground, both hands clutching the fabric of her pants.
"My mom and dad have already died in this war. I don't want those waiting for their parents to come home to end up as disappointed as I am."
"I don't want them to be abandoned when they're still alive. Why should that happen? I can't accept it. I'm a medical ninja, and yet I can't do anything right now."
Scalding tears fell onto the back of her hand as she sobbed softly.
Her tightly pursed lips were full of wounded frustration.
Perhaps this was the anguish of a healer.
