The power to defeat that madman?
Akainu secretly clenched his fist, a flicker of fervor flashing through his eyes.
Just moments ago, he had been contemplating how to obtain the power to defeat Qin Yu, one of the Five Emperors.
He had never expected the Five Elders to come knocking so quickly.
"What is it, Akainu? Don't tell me you don't want this power—power enough to completely transform a person? Or do you still want to lose to that madman?" Elam spoke again.
This time, however, there was an oddly bewitching undertone to his words.
The veins on the back of Akainu's clenched hand bulged even more grotesquely.
He stared fixedly at the Transponder Snail in his hand, and even his breathing grew heavy.
Heat surged from his entire body, and the deck beneath his feet seemed unable to withstand the scorching temperature, letting out crisp cracking sounds.
Hearing those subtle anomalies, Elam on the other end of the Transponder Snail said with a smile, "Akainu, you've made your choice, haven't you?"
"This is something only Lord Imu can accomplish. If you miss this chance, you'll regret it for the rest of your life, and you'll never have another opportunity to defeat that man."
"Don't forget, he came from the heavens. The methods he possesses are beyond your comprehension."
The relentless pressure in those words stretched Akainu's nerves to their limit.
The Transponder Snail in his hand looked as though it could be crushed at any moment.
Only after taking several deep breaths did he barely calm his turbulent emotions. "Fine. I'll head to Holy Land Mary Geoise right now. I hope you won't disappoint me."
To Akainu now, there was nothing left in his eyes but the word power. He had long since lost the ability to think rationally.
