Lightning Release Chakra Mode

As Qin Yu left, the scene erupted into chatter once more.

"Uzuki, those eyes just now were impossible to look at directly," Inubou said, unable to resist going over to him.

"Powerful Lightning Release Ninjutsu, an incredibly strong dōjutsu and genjutsu. He's simply beyond anyone's reach."

"Even A, the next Raikage of Kumogakure, declared that Qin Yu was qualified to inherit the title of Hokage. Who do you think has a better chance, him or Minato Namikaze?"

His words instantly drew everyone's attention.

Uzuki Cangwu's expression shifted slightly as he looked at the curious crowd. He sighed helplessly.

"The situation isn't as simple as you think. Yamanaka Fu and Aburame Torune escaped back to Konoha. Given Danzo's hostility toward the Uchiha Clan, he'll certainly protect them."

"If Danzo finds out we're still alive, he might even try to kill us."

The smiles on Inubou and the others froze.

"Uzuki, aren't you being too pessimistic? What should we do now? Should we warn Qin Yu?" Inubou asked urgently.

Uzuki Cangwu shook his head. "Inubou, do you think someone who's hidden himself so deeply wouldn't know about this?"

"My guess is that Qin Yu already has a plan."

Everyone fell silent, exchanging glances.

The battle from earlier was still vivid in their minds.

He had such incredible strength, yet had lain low in Konoha for so long.

Whatever he was plotting, it certainly wasn't anything small!

"Still, if we can drive the Cloud Ninja back this time, Qin Yu will deserve the most credit. Once word gets back, the Konoha High Command won't be able to ignore him."

"Qin Yu really is something. Not only did he defeat the AB Duo, he even squeezed the Nintaijutsu out of Kumogakure."

"If he turns this Lightning Release Chakra Mode over to Konoha, that'll be no small contribution either."

The crowd began talking over one another again.

After all, the battle had been too shocking.

"Do you think Qin Yu, being so skilled in Lightning Release Ninjutsu, will try to learn the Lightning Release Chakra Mode?" Inubou asked out of the blue.

Everyone tensed. Uzuki Cangwu's expression stiffened too. "It might actually be possible."

"But I still don't believe he understood the essence of Falling Thunder in three days and developed Lightning Style: Kirin, a technique powerful enough to rank as S-Class."

"Uzuki, are you saying that because you're embarrassed about losing face?" Inubou teased. "How about a bet?"

"Fine. If Qin Yu really pulls it off, I'll let my precious daughter date him," Uzuki Cangwu declared, thumping his chest.

"Pfft, Uzuki, that's no bet. You're just looking for an excuse to hand your daughter over to Qin Yu."

"Count me in. I want to bet too. If Qin Yu really learns it, I'll let him choose between my two daughters."

"Old Man Mu, you've got some nerve. One of your daughters is thirty, and the other's built like a bear. How can you put them on the table as options? If Qin Yu actually picks one, he must be blind."

"Damn you! What nonsense are you spouting? I challenge you to a duel. If you lose, you'll date my daughter!"

Deep inside the cave, Qin Yu had no idea he'd just acquired dozens of future fathers-in-law.

As he walked, he kept his eyes on the scroll containing the Lightning Release Chakra Mode.

"Qin Yu, are you really not hurt?" Shizune asked again, her face red.

Qin Yu rolled his eyes helplessly. "That's the tenth time you've asked."

"If you don't believe me, why don't I take off my clothes and show you?"

As he spoke, Qin Yu made a show of undoing his buttons.

"Qin Yu, you're being a lecher!" Shizune's cheeks reddened even more. She glared at him, then turned and walked away.

After watching her leave, Qin Yu finally had some peace and quiet.

He'd used up a lot of both chakra and ocular power. In other words, he was completely drained.

He didn't have the strength or the inclination to do that sort of thing.

He found a decent corner, sat cross-legged, and began trying to learn the Lightning Release Chakra Mode.

During the battle, Qin Yu had secretly used his Mangekyō Sharingan to observe the instant A entered the mode.

Now, after comparing what he'd seen with the explanations in the scroll, he found no discrepancies.

It seemed A had never imagined he might suffer a defeat.

He hadn't tampered with the secret technique scroll at all.

After reading it over several times, Qin Yu put the scroll away and entered a meditative state, letting his chakra recover a little.

A few hours later, Qin Yu opened his eyes. The sky outside had begun to darken.

After the day's battle, the Konoha ninja had clearly returned to their respective duties.

Some had even been reassigned to stand guard at various hidden outposts.

So, in the vast cave, Qin Yu was still alone.

"My chakra's mostly recovered. Now I finally understand Kakashi the Five-Five Split's pain when he runs out of chakra." Qin Yu sighed helplessly.

Three big moves had used up two-thirds of his chakra. If he ran into a drawn-out fight and ran out halfway through, he'd be done for.

That would be a nightmare!

"Forget it. I'll figure out how to increase my chakra later. For now, I'll learn the Lightning Release Chakra Mode." Qin Yu pushed the thought aside.

He slowly closed his eyes, bringing every explanation from the scroll to mind.

Three or four seconds passed before Qin Yu suddenly opened his eyes. His hands moved rapidly, forming a series of seals.

His chakra roared within him, and wisps of electricity appeared across his skin.

The next moment, all the information his Mangekyō Sharingan had copied from A flashed through Qin Yu's mind. His hand seals abruptly changed.

The chakra that had flowed as steadily as a stream changed in nature in an instant. It surged like ten thousand galloping horses, and a deep rumble sounded from within Qin Yu.

Countless violent blue arcs of electricity burst from Qin Yu's body, lighting up half the cave.

But as soon as the lightning arcs appeared, they scattered into the air.

The change in his chakra's nature dissipated, and it returned to normal.

A trace of relief crossed Qin Yu's face. He muttered, "Good thing I cut off the chakra transformation in time. Otherwise, that sudden surge of unstable chakra might have made me explode in an instant."

"No wonder that guy handed the secret technique scroll over so readily."

"Ding! The host has learned the Lightning Release Chakra Mode. Would you like to max it out with one click?"

"Max it out now."

After giving it a try, Qin Yu had given up on learning it himself. Not using the system when he had it would be pure self-torture.

"Congratulations, host. Lightning Release Chakra Mode has reached the maximum level."

As the system's notification faded, Qin Yu let out a deep breath. With another thought, he changed the nature of his chakra once again.

With a series of crackles, blue arcs of lightning burst from Qin Yu's body.

In an instant, stimulated by the lightning, Qin Yu felt his cells and body rapidly come alive.
