Background / History

Tang San enrolls at Nuoding City's junior Soul Master Academy and becomes Yu Xiaogang's disciple. Yu Xiaogang tells him of Xue Yao's earlier humiliation of the teacher, directing Tang San's sense of justice toward hostility against Xue Yao 23.

When Yu Xiaogang publicly curses Xue Yao at Nuoding City's gate, Tang San supports his teacher and later blocks the royal party's path. He demands that Xue Yao apologize and challenges him to a one-on-one duel 37 38. The challenge ends in immediate humiliation: Xue Yao's Little Griffin strikes Tang San to his knees with pure speed and force, after which the royal party leaves without acknowledging him 39 40.

Tang San continues training and later confronts Xue Yao again. Even at level 27, his Purple Demon Eye cannot follow Xue Yao's movements; a finger flick sends him into a wall and leaves him unconscious 78 79.

During the encounter with the Titan Giant Ape Er Ming, Tang San attempts to rescue Xiao Wu despite Zhao Wuji's restraint. Er Ming casually breaks his leg and carries Xiao Wu away, leaving Tang San injured and desperate 96 97. He subsequently blames Xue Yao for failing to intervene and confronts him, only to be overwhelmed by Xue Yao's killing intent and spared because of Tang Hao 98.

After Xue Yao steals the Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone intended for Tang San, Tang Hao brings his injured son toward Tiandou City to reclaim it 102 111. Xue Yao's planned ambush draws Tang Hao out; Tang Hao escapes with Tang San but loses an arm, is pursued for three days and nights, and is ultimately killed by Xue Yao 113 115 118. Tang San escapes the battlefield and later reunites with Yu Xiaogang, swearing revenge against Xue Yao 119 127.

Personality

Tang San is fiercely loyal to Yu Xiaogang and deeply attached to Xiao Wu. He repeatedly acts against overwhelming opponents to defend them, including challenging Xue Yao over Yu Xiaogang's treatment and charging Er Ming to save Xiao Wu 38 96 97.

His defeats and Tang Hao's death intensify his hatred of Xue Yao. He becomes increasingly ruthless, crafting lethal hidden weapons, accepting Yu Xiaogang's schemes, and brutally defeating tournament opponents with his mutated martial soul 127 128 131. His determination is substantial, but his anger repeatedly drives him into reckless confrontations with opponents far beyond his strength 39 98 136 138.
