Background / History
Tang San arrives at Blue Tyrant Academy with the Shrek group. Xiao Wu’s growing interest in fellow applicant Xiao Yexuan unsettles him. When she defends Xiao Yexuan against Dai Mubai, Tang San tries to stop her and claims Xiao Yexuan must have altered her thoughts. Xiao Wu rejects the accusation 1 4 5.
Tang San objects when his teacher, Yu Xiaogang, is selected to duel Xiao Yexuan. After Yu loses, Tang San challenges Xiao Yexuan to a fight to the death. He then helps resuscitate Yu despite his revulsion at the filth left by the duel 7 8 9.
Later, Tang San intervenes when Liu Erlong attacks Yu and fires a Godly Zhuge Crossbow at her. Xiao Yexuan’s wind field diverts the bolt. Liu Erlong severely burns and injures Tang San, but Flender rescues him and obtains treatment 13 14 15 22. Tang San subsequently joins Dai Mubai in watching Xiao Yexuan and attempting to ambush his group. Ning Rongrong’s distress signal forces them to flee; Liu Erlong catches them afterward and burns them both. Flender brings them to the Nine Hearts Begonia clinic, where Ye Lingling refuses to treat them 22 27 29 31 32 33.
Personality
Tang San is fiercely protective of Yu Xiaogang, confronting Xiao Yexuan over Yu’s defeat and risking Liu Erlong’s retaliation to defend him. He also cares strongly about being seen as a devoted, principled disciple; concern for that reputation helps push him to resuscitate Yu when he hesitates 8 9 13 14.
His jealousy of Xiao Yexuan extends beyond Xiao Wu. While spying on Xiao Yexuan’s residence, Tang San covets Ning Rongrong’s medicinal herbs and imagines obtaining the influence Xiao Yexuan holds over Xiao Wu, Zhu Zhuqing, and Ning Rongrong 22.
