History

Li Hao awakened the Fishing Rod at Holy Soul Village's Martial Soul Awakening Ceremony. The rod was plain and chipped, while his half-level soul power placed him below even the usual lowest-ranked Soul Masters. He initially regarded it as a useless martial soul and chose a life of fishing instead 1.

After Xiao Wu's Bond Evolution, her stabilized 100,000-year Soft Bone soul ring automatically adapted to the Fishing Rod and was perfectly absorbed without a hunt 3. The martial soul later acquired a second millennium-grade ring through Li Hao's bond with Queen Medusa, then an 8,000-year third ring from the Illusion Dream Tree Demon 9 26.

Within Soul Beast Paradise, the Fishing Rod underwent an unexplained mutation into the Karma Rod. The transformed weapon gave Li Hao the ability to reach across causal connections and “fish” fragments of luck, cultivation, power, and even karmic marks 18 21.

Its first full evolution occurred when Li Hao attempted to retrieve the dying Aromatic Silk Beauty. The extreme strain of the long-distance fishing attempt, stabilized by Xiao Wu, Medusa, and Zhu Zhuqing, transformed the Karma Rod into the Karma Fishing Rod 48.

Appearance

The martial soul began as an ordinary, battered fishing rod. After its mutation, it became a pitch-black rod marked by flowing golden patterns, with a luminous, seemingly endless fishing line.

Karma Extraction and Severance

Li Hao can use the rod's connection to pull intangible karmic phenomena out of the void.
