Uchiha Mika felt a little helpless. Even though she didn't want her child to get conceited, she couldn't bring herself to say he hadn't done well.
"Not bad. You performed the technique very well. Looks like I should teach you a new one, as promised."
Mika acknowledged Uchiha Cheng's performance. She intended to keep her earlier promise.
"So, have you decided which technique you want to learn?"
"I decided a long time ago. I want to learn the Shadow Clone Technique."
Uchiha Cheng answered at once. As a Naruto fan, he naturally remembered the ultimate cheat for learning ninjutsu: the Multi Shadow Clone Technique. It could increase the speed of learning ninjutsu more than tenfold. It was practically a cheat code.
Now that he was in the Naruto world, he naturally didn't want to pass up this advantage. But the Multi Shadow Clone Technique was beyond his reach for now, so he couldn't afford to miss its lesser counterpart, the Shadow Clone Technique. It could only create one clone, but that could still double the speed at which he learned ninjutsu.
Besides, he knew that once he had learned the Three Body Technique and the Body Flicker Technique, he would have mastered all the ninjutsu taught at the Ninja Academy. The training that followed would amount to little more than Tree Climbing and Water Walking. If he learned the Shadow Clone Technique, he could greatly speed up his training.
Mika was a little surprised. She had assumed her son would ask for some technique that let him breathe fire or spit water. After all, Fire Style and Water Style seemed incredibly cool to children. She hadn't expected him to choose the plain and unassuming Shadow Clone Technique instead.
She kept her promise and taught Uchiha Cheng the technique. It was a high-level B-rank ninjutsu, but after what had happened earlier, she had faith in her son's talent.
Things went just as Uchiha Mika expected. Although he needed a few more tries, Uchiha Cheng soon mastered the Shadow Clone Technique.
He hadn't thought much about it before, but after learning the Shadow Clone Technique, Uchiha Cheng could clearly sense how unusual his talent was.
For starters, he had plenty of chakra to spare, enough to perform a B-rank ninjutsu like the Shadow Clone Technique, which was normally suited to Jonin, at such a young age. Ninjutsu also required chakra control, and he seemed exceptionally good at that, too. Combined with his excellent memory and the Rinnegan's remarkable insight, he could perform all kinds of ninjutsu as effortlessly as moving his own arms.
For him, simple E-rank ninjutsu like the Three Body Technique were practically as easy as eating or drinking. He only had to put food or water in his mouth, and everything else happened naturally.
