Tsunade returned to Konoha and took the mantle of Fourth Hokage. While this had stabilized the village's morale and situation to some extent, it had left the front lines much weaker.
Although Tsunade was the only one to step down from the front, the other medical ninja remained active there. Without her leadership, however, they were still scrambling every day and couldn't treat every injured shinobi effectively. As a result, casualties on Konoha's front lines continued to climb.
Looking over the reports sent back from the front, Tsunade furrowed her delicate brows, clearly troubled.
"The number of casualties on the front lines has surged compared to before... Ye Ning, do you have any ideas?"
After taking a sip of the tea Shizune had brought her, Tsunade looked at Ye Ning expectantly.
Even after becoming Hokage, Tsunade still didn't much like using her brain.
These troublesome matters were better left to Ye Ning. She'd much rather be a good-for-nothing in peace.
Tsunade leaned over the desk and sprawled across it without a hint of shame. Her ample chest pressed against the tabletop, rising and falling like twin waves. She looked every bit like she wouldn't get up until he came up with a solution.
At the sight, Ye Ning's mouth twitched twice.
You come to me with everything...
Are you the Hokage, or am I?
There was no helping it. This lazy woman was just like that, and Ye Ning could only sigh and accept his fate.
"We don't need to worry about the Kirigakure front for now. Before he died, the Third dealt Kirigakure a heavy blow. They no longer have the strength to stand against Konoha. Besides, Hiashi and Hizashi are cautious by nature. Even if the situation becomes unstable, they'll retreat to Mount Kikyo at the first opportunity."
