The process of transplanting Hashirama Cells was, just as Orochimaru had said, a rather lengthy one.
During the procedure, Ye Ning felt a little pain several times.
Fortunately, Orochimaru's assurances had been well founded.
The transplant went off without a hitch.
"Well, congratulations, Ye Ning. Your body hasn't shown any signs of rejection."
As Orochimaru congratulated him, Ye Ning slowly sat upright.
To be honest, after receiving Hashirama's cells, Ye Ning didn't notice any obvious abnormalities or changes in his body.
But transplanting Hashirama's cells was an essential part of all his plans.
"Orochimaru, how is your research on the Tenseigan coming along?"
"Well, you could say it hasn't progressed at all."
Ever since Ye Ning had told him about the Rinnegan and the Tenseigan, Orochimaru had taken a keen interest in them. He had conducted extensive research using the Byakugan he'd obtained from Kirigakure.
Unfortunately, he'd come up empty-handed in the end.
"I've given some thought to why the experiments failed. Perhaps this Byakugan isn't pure enough... Or perhaps we're missing the Otsutsuki Clan you mentioned, Ye Ning. If we could obtain cells from the Otsutsuki Clan, our research might make a breakthrough."
Orochimaru's expression was clearly tinged with regret.
After learning of the Otsutsuki Clan's existence, Orochimaru had become intensely interested in them. He could hardly wait to slice them up and study them.
Unfortunately, there were very few members of the Otsutsuki Clan in the entire Naruto world.
Kaguya Otsutsuki, the Sage of Six Paths, Hamura Otsutsuki, Black Zetsu, and even Momoshiki Otsutsuki and Isshiki Otsutsuki, who appeared later, were all members of the Otsutsuki Clan.
But Ye Ning obviously couldn't capture any of them and hand them over to Orochimaru for research.
Still, what Orochimaru said reminded Ye Ning of a branch of the Otsutsuki Clan
