Using her position as captain of an Anbu squad, Mei Terumi had successfully found out where the guards would be thinnest tonight.
She had chosen tonight because she'd received word that Yagura seemed to be planning to move against the Yuki Clan.
The Hozuki Clan had already been attacked, so the Yuki Clan would naturally be on their guard. Yagura couldn't wipe them out as easily as he had the Hozuki Clan. A fierce battle was inevitable tonight.

And this squad was one of the weaker ones among all the Anbu teams.
With Hozuki Mangetsu's strength, breaking through their encirclement shouldn't be a problem.
By the time the other Anbu squads arrived, she could pretend to be in pursuit and lead them in another direction.
