The Deva Path left alone.
When they had arrived, the Six Paths of Pain had confronted him with overwhelming force. Now, only he remained, all by himself, lonely and pitiful.
"Are we really just letting him go?"
Orochimaru pursed his lips, a trace of regret flashing through his eyes.
Watching the Rinnegan slip away right before his eyes... that feeling was truly unpleasant!
However, just as Orochimaru finished speaking, Ye Ning's body swayed slightly before he collapsed to the side.
"Ye Ning!"
"Lord Ye Ning!"
Orochimaru's expression changed slightly. He hurriedly supported Ye Ning, then led the group they had brought back from Kirigakure and rushed back to Konoha.
"Phew... It's nothing serious. His body is simply overextended. Some rest and recovery will be enough."
After giving Ye Ning a thorough examination, Tsunade finally relaxed and let out a breath. Her chest visibly rose and fell.
When she first saw Orochimaru return carrying an 'unconscious' Ye Ning, Tsunade's mind had gone blank with a buzz, leaving her frozen in place. In that brief instant, Nawaki had flashed through her mind.
Even her hands had trembled uncontrollably while examining Ye Ning.
Fortunately, Ye Ning had merely exhausted himself. A little more rest would be enough.
"Damn Madara Uchiha!"
Seeing that Ye Ning was safe and sound, Tsunade finally relaxed completely. She clenched her fists tightly and slammed one into the railing of a nearby hospital bed.
Orochimaru had already told Tsunade what had happened, and she knew that the one responsible for Ye Ning's current condition was the brat named Nagato whom she had once met. But those eyes belonged to Madara Uchiha, so naturally, the debt had to be placed on his head as well.
"Hmph! Once he comes back to life, I'll punch his head clean off!"
