Seeing that no one paid him any attention, Deidara frowned in irritation.
But for the sake of that earlier explosion, Deidara retained a trace of patience and asked again.
"I'm asking, who caused that explosion just now?"
Suigetsu, who was equally annoyed, stepped forward with the explosive blade slung over his shoulder and said lazily, "I caused it. What, got a problem with that?"
"You caused it?"
Deidara looked him up and down, excitement gradually appearing in his eyes.
That excitement was not only the thrill of wanting to fight Suigetsu, but also the excitement of finding a kindred spirit!
"You approve of my art too?"
Deidara asked impatiently, a hint of longing gradually rising in his eyes.
It was as though finding someone who approved of his art was something incredibly important.
And indeed, it was.
The art Deidara yearned for... was not accepted in Iwagakure.
Normally, Iwagakure had its own specialized demolition squads, so Deidara should have been able to find plenty of companions with common interests. But the problem was that, in order to test his clay bombs, Deidara had conducted all sorts of experiments within Iwagakure itself.
The result of those experiments was that Iwagakure's buildings and facilities were frequently destroyed.
Once or twice was tolerable. Out of respect for Ōnoki, the villagers could not say much.
But the problem was that Deidara blew up one or two houses with bombs on average every single day!
As time went on, Deidara's art became thoroughly unappreciated. It was already fortunate that he was not outright rejected...
Seeing Deidara's eager expression, Suigetsu scratched his head in confusion.
"Art? What art?"
"Huh?"
Now it was Deidara's turn to be stunned, a bewildered look appearing on his face.
