Zabuza gathered his courage and met Naruto's gaze, the very sight of which still filled him with lingering fear.
He spoke.
"Since you want us to submit, it seems our lives are still of some use to you."
"Otherwise, you could have killed us from the start."
At this point, Zabuza had no idea where he got the courage.
It certainly wasn't from Miss Liang.
He acted as though he had Naruto figured out, convinced Naruto would not dare kill him.
Hearing this, Haku's tense heart relaxed slightly.
Even so, he did not dare let his guard down too much.
He still stood as if facing a formidable enemy, ready at any moment to use his life to hold Naruto back.

to find other people to watch over Gato's businesses.
Though Zabuza was no match for Naruto in strength, the Demon of the Mist's reputation still carried some intimidation.
At the very least, together with Haku, he was more than capable
of taking over and managing those operations.
Naruto's sudden laughter
made several dark lines appear across Zabuza's forehead.
