Tangze returned even earlier than he had said he would.
Since the plot had entered a slower stretch, by the time Tangze sat back down beside him, Hitoshi Shiratori thought it over and realized there did not seem to be anything that needed explaining.
"The restroom was easier to find than I expected," Tangze explained with a smile, rolling the wrist that had grown slightly sore from swinging the grappling hook too quickly.
"I told you the signs around here were pretty clear. There was no way it should have taken ten minutes," Hitoshi Shiratori said with a nod.
He was very mindful of etiquette when he spoke, keeping his eyes directed toward Tangze the entire time. Because of that, he missed Kasakura Nanami, who had been sitting on the other side, suddenly putting her sunglasses back on.
Tangze, on the other hand, caught the movement clearly. Realizing that Kasakura Nanami might have started crying after an emotional breakdown, he thoughtfully continued chatting with Hitoshi Shiratori so he would not notice anything unusual.
"Maybe it was the trauma from transferring at Shibuya when I first came to Tokyo... The underground passages here are way too complicated."
"Are they? There are a few more levels, certainly. Mainly because the commercial development branches out so much here, and it is a transportation hub..."
"More than a few. It is practically a maze. I understand that stations need redundant disaster-prevention designs, but... Anyway, on my first day here, I found out that because one restroom was closed for maintenance and cleaning, I had to take a huge detour just to reach another station..."
"Ah, when you put it that way..."
The focus of their conversation had completely drifted away from the movie, but Hitoshi Shiratori had only come out today to relax anyway.
