As his eyes adjusted to the darkness and he used the faint glow of the screen to explore the room, Conan tried looking into the other contents on Taku Itakura's computer. He quickly discovered that the man's geeky nature had had quite an impact.
For instance, nearly every folder containing files was encrypted and required a password.
"Should we call him cautious?" Another password prompt had appeared for who knew how many times, and Professor Agasa rubbed his forehead.
"Maybe he was just the type who enjoyed keeping all his things private." Recalling Taku Itakura's room, which had been excessively obsessed with order, Conan could only comment, "No wonder the Organization found it necessary to activate the software in separate stages."
Taku Itakura was that kind of person.
If he had obediently made the software according to the Organization's demands, he might actually have been able to escape disaster by relying on that skill.
As the two spoke, the clock in the lower-right corner of the computer reached midnight.
The next instant, an email notification chimed.
Then, all they had to do was open it...
Conan moved the mouse and clicked on the new email that had popped up.

"A password? Why is it another password..." Seeing the input field, the tense Professor Agasa could not help clenching his fist angrily.
Taku Itakura was a successful engineer, a cautious geek, and truly a troublesome target...
"It's counting down..." Conan's expression was far more solemn than before.
This was an email from the Organization.
If they failed to enter the password in time, not being able to open the email would be the least of their problems. Nobody knew whether it would send some sort of message back.
