"You think Senior Aizawa and her husband are going to cause trouble today?" Ran Mouri was utterly shocked. "H-how could that be...?"
Tangze had put it very tactfully, saying both that Yuko Aizawa's emotions were unstable and that Eri Kisaki had been paying close attention to the state of their marriage. Since there was obviously a serious problem between the couple, Ran Mouri had no such reservations and summed it up directly.
"Something's going to happen today?" Conan was less surprised, only somewhat rueful. "That's faster than I expected..."
"You noticed something too? Was it really that obvious?" Ran Mouri turned to look at Conan again, unconvinced. "I think I've gotten pretty good at psychology by now..."
So why hadn't she noticed anything?
"Psychological counseling often relies on more than observation. The standard for a qualified counselor isn't Sherlock Holmes." Tangze soothed her gently. "As for Ms. Aizawa, I'd guess she already had a plan in mind."
"Based on that phone call this afternoon?" Conan pursed his lips and took out his little notebook. "I wrote down what was said, but I wasn't expecting it to be useful when I recorded it."
Yuko Aizawa's sudden speakerphone call had naturally caught Conan's attention.
But he hadn't figured out what Yuko Aizawa wanted to do, nor what purpose that call could serve, so he had merely jotted it down as an everyday mystery.
"Even if she planned to harm her husband, what could that phone call accomplish?" Conan stroked his chin as he looked at the notes. "That definitely wasn't a recording fabricated by Yuko Aizawa, right? Aunt Eri actually spoke with the other person, and the conversation was very natural. I don't think Ms. Aizawa could have predicted every single thing Aunt Eri would say and prepared a recording that thorough..."
