Under Tangze's watchful eye, they hadn't immediately assumed the man they fished out was Shinichi Kudo. But they could neither prove nor disprove it now, and they certainly couldn't leave a living, breathing amnesiac to go streaking.
So in the end, they still brought this man with yet another Kudo face back to Osu Inn.
With two high school boys of roughly the same build, Heiji Hattori and Tangze, putting together a set of clothes for him wasn't much of a problem.
"Heiji's clothes fit you perfectly..." Kazuha Toyama watched the man enter while straightening his cuffs and nodded.
When she turned to ask Ran Mouri to take a look too, she discovered that Ran hadn't been waiting there at all. Instead, she was clutching her phone and whispering something to Tangze and Hattori.
"You must have a reason for thinking he isn't Shinichi, right?" Ran gripped her phone, which had no signal, tightly in her hand, her expression deeply worried. "Then where do you think Shinichi is? Is he still outside?"
Tangze shot a quick glance in that direction and gave a small nod. "Yeah, I do think he isn't Kudo. Hattori, after watching him all this way, what do you think?"
Compared to someone like him with his unfair advantages, Heiji Hattori's instincts and powers of observation were much more telling.
Sure enough, Heiji Hattori lightly shook his head, his expression grave. "The more I look, the more wrong it feels. The face is definitely that guy's, but his build, the way he walks, everything feels different... Well, not like I've seen normal Kudo that many times, though..."
Without the preconceived assumption that he was Kudo, Yadaken Makoto's skills were nowhere near enough to deceive Heiji Hattori's eyes.
