After a brief silence, Conan watched the person deftly pry open the watch face and inspect the mechanisms inside. His movements were remarkably precise; Conan did not even feel the slightest pressure on his wrist. He could not help but wonder.
"I remember your Phantom Thief Troupe had, um, someone who was pretty good at defusing bombs. Trigger, was it...?"
He knew there was someone in the Phantom Thief Troupe who could disarm bombs. He had seen it with his own eyes.
In that cramped, dark elevator shaft at Tokyo Tower, he had even spent quite some time with that person because of the bomb's unusual setup.
This involved delicate work such as potentially dismantling a bomb, yet that person had not come. Conan could not help feeling somewhat disappointed.
After all, according to his guess, that had been a truly extraordinary person.
Or rather, someone extraordinary enough to prove that the Phantom Thief Troupe was truly extraordinary...
"Oh, him." Kenji Hagiwara chuckled around the pliers in his mouth. "He really is good at that sort of thing."
"So..." Conan raised his head, feeling that he was about to hear something significant.
"But he can't get out and about as easily as I can, and he has his own things to do." In a few quick motions, Kenji Hagiwara dealt with the device inside. He used tweezers to grip a lump of clay-like material slightly larger than a thumb and pulled it out from the watch. "All done. Noah, you can lift the signal block."
Conan heard no response, but the next second, the LCD screen dangling to one side lit back up, once again displaying the time and other information.
Clearly, he had not only removed the danger inside but had done so without damaging any internal components. The
