Let's sum up the departed year of 2023.
One word: tiring!
I guess I'd reached that age. After all, I was already thirty. Years of staying up late had finally taken their toll, and coupled with high-intensity mental work, both my body and mind started having problems in the second half of the year.
I personally felt that my body had gone wrong first, and then my mind followed suit. After all, body and mind were one.
What was wrong? It was what I'd mentioned before: sleep apnea syndrome.
My airway got blocked at night, my brain was deprived of oxygen, and I woke up choking. Then the next day, my head would be foggy and accompanied by headaches.
In that state, I still had to write eight thousand words every day and constantly think up the plot. I kept it up for half a year. The more I wrote, the more depressed I became; the more I wrote, the worse I felt.
There were also the headaches and eye pain caused by cervical spondylosis. In short, there was a whole heap of problems.
Then one day, I suddenly thought that there wasn't much point in living, and it scared me.
I thought to myself, This can't go on. If it does, I'm going to collapse.
So I began updating only once a day. Although I disappointed the readers, those six months of single updates were exactly what saved my life.
I'd like to thank Chief Cai here—not because of his donations, but because he played games with me, eased my anxiety, and kept me company chatting and gaming every day.
