After opening the invitation, Rainer found this letter inside.
He verified the magical signature on the envelope. It was indeed an official letter from Mercury Plain. As for the signature, Frederick Dmitri—if Claire had been by his side, she surely would have jumped up in shock.
Because that was none other than the leader of Mercury Plain, a ninth-circle high-ranking mage.
For a moment, even Rainer felt suspicious, worried that some academic authority was trying to lure him out, steal his achievements, and then kill him. But he soon learned from Mrs. Michelle that all formal invitations like this had backup records at the High Council.
