The city gates shattered. The tremendous shock wave swept the cavalry, ready to charge, off their feet, and the cries of men and horses rose without end.

A young rider tried to get back up and wait for his chance, but his spooked horse knocked him down again. Another managed to control his frightened mount, only to be blown to pieces by shells raining down like drops of rain.

The Youth Army's morale did not hold for long, because an even more terrifying monster appeared on the battlefield.

This time, the Airships were not dropping leaflets, but grenades.

Though Airships were not especially deadly in practice, they were a weapon the cavalry had no way to fight. The threat of danger descending from the sky left them feeling even more helpless and hopeless.

Kossuth fled back into the Presidential Castle, screaming uncontrollably. Fortunately, his cries did not reach the ears of those who worshipped him.

The entire castle trembled as wood splinters and dust rained down. Kossuth had tried to leave, but burning buildings, collapsing houses, and crowds screaming as they fled in every direction frightened him back inside.

In just four hours, Debrecen had been transformed beyond recognition. Roaring flames were devouring everything in the city.

This time, the Austrian Army gave the enemy no chance to catch its breath. The infantry began advancing before the shelling had even ended.

Though the Hungarians in the city had been prepared to die before the war began, imagining it and facing it in person were two entirely different things.

Some would rather fight the futile battle of putting out fires than carry out the plan to break through the front. The Austrian Army, meanwhile, methodically squeezed the Hungarian Army's room to survive.

Before long, the defenses around Debrecen had all fallen.
